Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, and the successor to 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Principally set in the years 872–878 AD, the game recounts a fictional story during the Viking expansions into the British Isles. Players control Eivor Varinsdottir, a Viking raider who becomes embroiled in the centuries-old conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control.[c] The modern-day portion of the story is set in the 21st century and follows Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relives Eivor’s memories so as to find a way to save the Earth from destruction.
The game was released on November 10, 2020, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Stadia, whilst the PlayStation 5 version was released on November 12. It received generally positive reviews, with praise for the narrative, characters, voice acting, visuals, soundtrack, world-design and the interconnectivity of activities, while being criticized for its length, technical issues, repetitive structure and reliance on microtransactions over game updates. The game had the biggest launch in the Assassin’s Creed series to date, selling the most copies within its first week.
In AD 885, Eivor is visited by Toka Sinricsdottir, a Viking raider from Francia and recruited to take part in a planned raid on the city of Paris; concerned about the potential threat to England posed by the Frankish emperor Charles the Fat, Eivor agrees. Alongside Toka, Eivor travels to Melun to meet with Sigfred, Toka’s uncle and jarl. Sigfred seeks vengeance against the Franks for the death of his brother Sinric, Toka’s father. Eivor pledges her sword to the coming raid, but seeks an audience with Charles in the hopes of ending the conflict peacefully.
After pushing back an attack by Frankish bishop Engelwin–the man directly responsible for Sincric’s death–Eivor and Sigfred travel to Paris in pursuit. There, they witness Count Odo, Paris’ military leader rallying his forces. Eivor pursues Engelwin to a local church and infiltrates it under the guise of an adherent. She kills Engelwin, and discovers a connection to a secretive, zealous sect of the Church named the Bellatores Dei (God’s Warriors). With Engelwin dead, Eivor turns her attention to Charles the Fat and uncovers his presence at a local brothel. Meeting with Charles, Eivor agrees to rescue Charles’ wife Richardis, who has recently gone missing, in exchange for a negotiation on the fate of England.
Pursuing Richardis to Evreux, Eivor learns that she is being held captive by a nun known only as “Little Mother”, and that she is due to undergo a typically-fatal religious exorcism. Eivor infiltrates the ceremony and assassinates Little Mother, tying her also to the Bellatores Dei. Richardis and Eivor leave for Lisieux, where Eivor meets Bernard, Charles’ illegitimate but only male heir. She realises that Charles ultimately seeks Bernard, and that Richardis protects him in order to keep him from being corrupted by his father before he can become king.

I still haven't finished all of the side stuff 😅 but sometimes it's fun to just hop on and do the junk food stuff? Thanks for watching y'all!! 💙
I really wish AC games prioritized open ended gameplay and assassinations, similar to how dishonored did all the way back in 2012.
Some things of the game feel cheap and worse than unity, combat and animation is the weakest things
6:20 honestly lost all credibility with that comment. Imagine thinking Tarantino is just shock value tricks because he does hard line the twitter talking points. Might wanna save that art in video games thesis till you can focus on the art instead of just using critical theory cadence to sound cutting. Most the OG critical theorists Berghahn for example are using it as a tool to detach from romanticism, Not to romanticize the inverse and negatives.
Shouldn't the French accent be closer to Old French?
I just cant believe you siege paris with 10 lads
it makes no sense
this game is still shit
I can't believe I downloaded over 80 GB of Valhalla, played for 5 minutes until I had to delete it 😭
It's funny how this game is called Assassin's Creed. Its sad..
And then..non AC fans defend it..yeah, enjoy it, but why no new franchise for these..
This is not assassin's creed i don't know what it is but it's absolutely not assassin's creed for me
Just tried the siege again, and i havent played anything as janky and clunky EVER. Even the isle of sky is more playable. Horse wont gallop as you prep back and forth from A to B, you can only climb a fraction of what you could in England, obstacles hitboxes and even lootboxes feel less polygonal and broken. I had no problem with the main game or other DLCs but the Siege crashed MULTIPLE times on me on PC. It's a lazy af cashgrab and a h'o h'o h'o in a terriblé french acc'ent.
35 rebel missions max out the rank to 4 lol
Editing the stealth settings and you get detected less and have more time to react. Does no one realize that you can edit the assassination and stealth combat. I edited the entire controller to feel like old ac games and it works.
Did you really just compare this to Blood and Wine like they’re on the same level?
I love Valhalla I feel like everyone here is nitpicking at everything with the game..it's a good game
The thumbnail made me think this was conan obriens clueless gamer
Ghost of tsushima is everything assassins creed was supposed to be
Wrath of the druids was peak in my opinion
I just loved Valhalla as a whole. Not as an AC but as a historical RPG
A lot of the writers for Ubi are lazy or just unimaginitive. Then out of the blue you'll hit a quest or quest-line that is absolutely brilliant, and it reminds you why you play the game in the first place. Currently on the Atlantis dlc for odyssey and the first chapter was definitely in the 'mehh' category of cringe. Then I land in Hades (chapter II) and obviously a different writer or writing team was in charge because it's absolutely brilliant. Ubisoft is schizoid that way.
You played the DLC as I played the game. Turned of most hud, only went for the main quest, and I had a veeeeerry looooong movie 🙂
What we really need is a new assassin's creed game with Unity's Parkour, Witcher's story writing and questing, GOT combat or maybe Valhalla's combat with more variety of moves, and Origins' world design
this game gets too much hate😔
i don't care for Valhalla at all . the game crashes like clockwork . Ubisoft has been denying a refund . fix or exchange for 2 years . this game made me promise that i'll pirate any Ubisoft game i want instead of buying it . this game ruined Ubisoft for me as a whole . they literally treat you like crap because you play on PC
What’s wrong with children? All npcs in this game look terrible, not just the kids, they’re just noticeably worse. They don’t look like real people their proportions and faces are so fucking weird.
Someone needs to grow up
I love Valhalla. Don't like the dlc much. Also don't like how all the cool weapons and armor are tied to the store.
Only AC game I actually enjoyed, i think it’s because i hate stealth games and this let me go ape shit instead.
Wait!!! You guys dealt with the gold chest in the house? I thought I was losing my mind. It actually was what made me give up on the game and realize it wasn’t worth wasting my time for
I love it how you're shitting at the game and then suddenly starting to lick it's ass. Typical youtuber of 2022
I really enjoyed this dlc, it brought me back to what AC can be. It reminded me of how Unity was with the assassination missions.
I liked how we can plan assassinations but stealth mechanics needs improvements.
Ubisoft has better DLCs than their main games
Those French accents alone are a criminal offence
I loved Siege of Paris. I thought it was well paced, an outstanding story, had interesting characters, and was overall just so much fun to play. I liked the main game. But not as much as I loved Origins. Valhalla is a good game. I think it has a lot of problems that I hope Ubisoft fixes but it was a really enjoyable experience. I am kind of glad that they took the approach that they did with the game. The Assassin vs. Templar fight was getting super old by the time that Syndicate came out, which btw, I absolutely loved Syndicate. Origins really reinvented the series for me. Having The Hidden Ones fight the Order of the Ancients is such a great story with a lot of potential. I think that the Assassins vs Templars was just kind of played out. I know that the Assassins and Templars are just later versions of the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients but still. They are the same but they are very different.
Valhalla is a great game especially if you are looking to play as a Viking. I know that the viking story is kind of played out at this point because we have been getting so much viking content from hollywood and video games in the last 10 years that it is starting to feel like the zombie genre. However, this game really kind of reinvents it. Eivor has his own motivations and you really want to see him succeed.
It still feels disappointing compared to how the tv show actually depicted the assaults on Paris
