Pauly shore was my youth. I loved putting in this vhs and watching it over and over again. This, the mighty ducks and Encino man! And the “in the army now” was what I thought being in the army would be like. Did 13 years. Was not completely inaccurate. Haha.

Trailer totally didn't mention the love-triangle. She uses him to get out of an engagement. That's the crux of the story for me.

I actually love Pauly Shore movies, it’s that weird humor that you can’t help but laugh.
The original film treatment was written about a boyfriend from Staten Island, NY who was dating a girl from New Jersey.

Encino Man is amazing, Biodome is the only environmentalist movie I like, Jury Duty is hilarious from beginning to end and In The Army Now is simply a classic war movie.
Are they the best movies? Not even close. Are they amazing 90s gems that could only work with the…"quirky" personality of Pauly Shore? Yes.
He's the prototype for so many modern beloved movie and tv show characters that it's frankly becoming ridiculous that all his movies are so damn downvoted to this day.
