TemTem seems like a really cute fun game! Also note it WILL be coming to Switch so that is hype though wish for phones too. Anyways, fundamentally I feel the game has a couple of problems but maybe its just me.

I think you should’ve hold off until you played it to then make a review. But I will say the game is no Pokemon killer. I hear arguments like it’s more difficult and the battle mechanics are better. Again it’s up to preference. The story and characters are bland and forgettable. I’m not saying Pokémon doesn’t have that problem, but if you look back at Black and White, it may have not been the best story, but it was still amazing for a Pokemon game. Pokémon had memorable characters. In Temtem, I find these characters forced like Max. I also find lazy dialogue such as the Professor’s speech about strong and weak, then contradictory statements after the rival battle. Max is trying to be Gary, but I feel bad for him more than anything like a Wally or Bianca. Temtem while an MMO is not doing itself any favors feeling like it should be a single player experience. The art design is where this game fails, disagree with me, but it looks unorganized, say what you want about Pokémon, but it had an art style identity. The humans look creepy and Temtems look uninspired or interesting. The breeding mechanics are horrible. Grind heavy. Lumas are actually something I’ll praise this game for, it has a purpose. My opinion Temtem is a 6.5/10. It’s a good game, but is has many flaws, some I haven’t mentioned like healing, money scarcity, etc. The game is still in early access, sure, but you still pay $35. I can be critical of Pokémon the same way, $60 + $30 dlc. But as it stands the legacy of Pokémon is too enormous for Crema to end, especially with this game.
Temtem is trash, competitive scene is a joke with such few monsters being viable, new content is insignificant, updates are small and provide minutes of new gameplay. This game is going down because they thought they were so good, but they are just a Pokemon copy that adds nothing better.
If you liked Temtem, you should definitely check out Kindred Fates before their campaign ends, just from the pre-alpha development footage alone looks pretty incredible so early in development, it's the pokemon+botw+darksouls game we've been dreaming of for 20 years

You're assuming a lot of shit for someone that hasn't played the game at all. I bought Temtem day 1 and been having a blast with a game that's actually an original twist on Pokemon, the stamina system is awesome and the game is more focused towards competitive and fixes a lot of problems that exist in Pokemon. This definitely isn't a game for you because you don't even really like or play Pokemon. Pokemon is still good, despite whatever the vocal minority will tell you, Pokemon Sword and Shield are breaking record sales because people love it, and Temtem is good and will do well too, and the devs are super active and communicative. Whatever gaming outlets are saying about Temtem and being a "Pokemon killer", that doesn't fall on Temtem's fault and they never advertised themselves as such. They're inspired Pokemon and trying to do their own things with the genre and could do with more respect, both from the people blindly just calling it a clone and from people like you who are assuming it's gonna have the same issues as Pokemon.
First time I actually gave Skylent a dislike. If only because he actually thinks Dynamaxing is a good mechanic. It's just big, cumbersome and less interesting megas and you know it, Skylent.
And usually I'm happy to accept that thinking designs are good or bad is subjective, but that is only in most cases. Dynamax is just big pokemon, gigantamax forms are generally goofy, dorky looking things, save for Toxicitry, Drednaw and that son of a bitch Charizard, who has turned into the second coming of the series' cashcow. All of those could EASILY have been megas and have been better for it.
Dyna/gigantamaxing is just Gamefreak suffering from Sonic Team syndrome (randomly changing perfectly functional mechanics between titles, just because) on top of all their other problems.
have you not played magic man it is turn-base, Pokemon was not the first game that has a turn base game play. I guess i'm just show my age. Just look up Persona man

ok you don't like turn based games. all the pokemon games were turn based. so i guess you didn't like any of those either if you played them before. if you played any pokemon game the turn based combat should not be a problem for you at all. so yea your criticism kinda sucks and is based in childish biases and pet peeves. that seem to come from some 1 just ineperienced in a game like this.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I initially thought co-op seemed like a needless feature, but after having done it its a ton of fun and does make sense.
The difficulty level in temtem is a lot higher than most pokemon games, so actually having 12 available tems via coop is the main advantage there. It doesnt break the game, but it certainly helps, especially when you take so much damage per fight and healing resources are more limited/expensive. There is also a fun level of strategy when playing with a friend, especially if you have voice chat going.
I think you went into this review with some serious bias and I think you should give the game some time. Maybe step away for a bit and come back and give it a shot again.

You used words and made no points with the coop turn based issue you made pokemon has had this for years with no issues…….you failed to give actual points examples or consequences to make your point valid ……. you had expectations that were not met and you gave your bias already in the beginning …..like you said you should wait till full release before you review the game
The more you push back to your community, the harder the hit will become. Maybe it's a lesson in humility you need to learn.
Go play the game in it's current state as an early release then give a review. Dont just trash an entire genre of games that have been successful.
Coop is about community and playing with friends to build your friendship while sharing a good game. I can understand if you cant see this because it looks like your personality doesnt allow you to have many of them.

Nice review I like temtem. It have potential but only if the devs show us in the future that it could stand on its own. I want to see this game be something good, but it could only happen if the devs take some risks to make it good.

I do agree with it being sensationalised and all the dumb people/titles saying its going to kill pokemon, but everything else hmmm not so much.
Pokemon is probably Nintendo's most lucrative/popular/ one of the worlds biggest franchise's, temtem wont even make a dent, but that said there is a lot pokemon can learn from temtem and step up their game.

Can I get more of an explanation on why turn based multiplayer is pointless, I have some idea why you think that. But would still like to hear a full explanation vs just saying it's pointless. As well as what's your definition of an MMO so we're all on the same page here. Lastly why you do think that guilds is not an MMO feature. Just trying to fully understand where your coming from

I agree with your points on the coop it is basically just there as a role play mechanic and heavily depends on the duo partner either you enjoy the game more or less but it's basically a social aspect.
I do not agree with the concerns you mentioned about the pvp though, first I strongly disagree with the fact that they don't promote esport is a bad thing. League of legends esport was far from instant success, overwatch is the only game to do that and that could only be done with blizzard amount of money.
I think this game will be mainly about pvp both tournaments and club vs club dojo "territory" control. This will be the meat of the game in my opinion but at this point it's mainly too early to say but I do think that's unfair to expect all those stuff (especially esport tournaments) to be in day one of early acess
Bro, I found this game through your channel long ago and I still think it looks amazing for what it is. But I definitely see where you're coming from with your criticism of the game in its current form. Would be cool if they shook up the formula even more than simply copying most of what Pokemon is already known for. But I'm still looking forward to the Switch release hopefully in 2021. I'll wait until the full game comes out on console, though.

You should honestly preface this videos title as not a review – This is more like a negative bashing of a game you have not played yet using stock footage. You are entitled to you opinion and I do respect that and I do agree that this is not your game obviously. I feel like maybe overall you should skip over this game considering you have so much preconceived negativity before playing which generally leads to less objective reviews, granted I guess you have to considering Patreon, to which then I just ask you try to leave some of the bias and preconceptions below deck.
I agree with you about others just hyping up the game, and sensationalizing it more then it really needs to be, I find it kind of silly to have a problem with turned based combat, when its an RPG that copies Pokemon. The battle system itself is really good, not every RPG needs to have the same mechanics, you have turn based RPGs, action, real time, all types.
