THE Best Compact Tractor in the World?

THE Best Compact Tractor in the World? That’s the opinion I have after being around this brand for 20 years starting with my uncle in 2002! Ventrac has made several design changes and improvements over the years based on my suggestions and experience. This is why I love this brand so much because they take the advice of users like me very seriously and are always looking to make a better product! I bought my first #Ventrac in 2005 and my Dad bought his in 2008. The versatility and capability of this machine is unmatched by anything of comparable size, even outperforming much larger equipment in certain tasks!

It only takes one test drive on this incredibly agile, yet power-packed tractor and you’ll know that Ventrac is in a class of its own. An innovative design combines all-wheel drive, the FlexFrame, and powerful engines to give you unmatched stability and control to get work done. Most importantly, the 4500 is designed to be the most fun you’ll ever have on a tractor.

Choose from over 30 professional grade attachments to transform your Ventrac into a productivity powerhouse. This incredibly rugged and dependable machine is a wise business investment for golf courses, schools and universities, parks, street maintenance departments, commercial mowing services, contractors, wineries, farms, property owner associations, estate homes and anyone needing ONE machine to do it all.

I've been using these machines for nearly 2 decades and in that time, I've made some changes and modifications, some of which Ventrac adopted and added to their tractors and attachments! I'm very proud of having been a small part of what makes Ventrac such an amazing piece of equipment today!

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best compact tractor, but I'll give you a like anyway. Probably better then many SCUTs for a homeowner. Ventrac's two big problems is that they market there as commercial lawn mowers/slope mowers, and that they are a bit pricey for a 5 acre or less homeowner.

If money were no object, yes, I'd buy one with several of the less common attachments for my 25 acre tree farm. But, it's pretty easy to spend $50K plus on one with a few attachments.

Bradley; I recently asked a service tech the procedure for viewing the flywheel on a 4700 in order to align the timing marks for valve clearance checks. He said that would require engine removal from the tracotr. HUH!?!? I can see only a tiny bit of the flywheel , but can not see the alignment mark on back plate. I think "Dennis" at Ventrac once state he has checked his or he may have said "timing"; altough the electronic timing is pretty much built in. Any ideas? Maybe set #1 to TDC by carefully viewing the piston top directly and checking to see that both #1 valves are loose and then following the procedure from there where 360 degrees brings #1 back to TDC to to do the opposing clearances on #3 and #2. I have way more hours than the Kubota service manual specifies for this.

Well done Bradley. Ventrac will remain a leader in the industry if it continues to consider the end users key to improvement and longevity! I have forgotten about coming by. LOL!

Bradley, you have offered several suggesions that I have followed and liked. The mid-weight system has been the most useful; thanks. The SS hex cap screws have been much appreciated too, although I am replacing them as the need arises and not "whole hog". My butt and back thank you too regarding the suspension seat you demonstrated. There may be other things you have shown and I have adopted; but only one, so far, that I rejected. I did not get along with the steering wheel knob; it was just a bother and I am used to turning iwth just the friction of the palm of my hand on the steering wheel. But, hey, we are all different
