Thank you 👍🏻. Look forward to seeing future videos on Shortcuts.

It will be nice if you include the step by steps in comments. Thanks

Exited about getting down and dirty with Shortcuts. I work with data analysis and used to write a lot of scripts for the web and think I'm reasonably clever.. but when Shortcuts was released I felt like a right plonker who didn't, like, get it.. The only shortcut I have created and use is an automation on my iPad which Bluetooth on and off at specific times (I've noticied on my 6th gen that it saves a lot of battery power).

You fast have became my 'go-to-guy' when it comes to iPhone tutorials. Very simple, engaging, and useful. Thank you.

Hello from Texas. I enjoy your clear and interesting explanations of iPhone features. Good to see the Texas flag on the Morning Brew app. I trust good things were said.

Another great tutorial on a very useful iOS app! You are the best tutor of all things Apple I have ever seen on YouTube! Thanks you… I'll sign up for Morning Brew!

Your ‘get me home’ shortcut is already built into iOS. Providing you have your address on your contacts card, all you need to do is say ‘hey Siri get me home’. I use this all the time and have never made a shortcut.

this is super helpful thank you!

Is it possible to automate third company apps with this ?

Doesn't this create pages of shortcut buttons to go thru? I haven't seen anybody use siri in public in a long time…… I don't use siri at all because it doesn't understand half of what is said…..by the time you fool with her, you could have done the couple of clicks and been done. The reason why macros work on spreadsheets is the fact your using a mouse/trackpad or shortcut combo. You would be pissed if you had to tell you mac to do macros only for it to work sometimes. Siri still needs alot of work…. she doesn't understand half of what an amazon alexa does..

Often wondered, now I know, 🙏 and you’ve a British voice without the bull that most vlogs from across the pond revel at.

I've created very basic shortcuts before but never gone further than that. Would it be possible to create a shortcut that sends an imessage at a certain time Monday to Friday. It would be great to see how to create something like that. If it's possible. Looking forward to so more tutorials on this subject 👍

It seems shortcuts can’t adjust ringer volume. So you can’t do something like run a shortcut before going to bed to turn DND on, reduce call volume etc.

A useful short cut for us would be sending standard text massages to a distress vessels. Prompt for Master's Name & phone number of distress vessel.
Standard message is stored in notes & needs a macro for Master's Name. How to we define macro substitution in Notes?

So glad you made this! Thx!

I have been creating and making my own complex shortcuts for a while now, glad to see more people are getting into it and learning how to use it.

I pretty much did trial and error for everything I could think of before I would say I got comfortable with it.

Honestly the shortcuts I have made and shared amongst friends save myself and others a ton of time in everyday life and are a ton of fun to put together.

Extremely informative video. I would love a simple one to use for google maps and set up speak into safari without typing (I know there is already a speak button) but to be more specific with safari searches.

Thank you for your video. I’ve never looked into before. I’m glad I came across this video and I am going to make me a heap o’ shortcuts✌️

shortcuts are very frustrating. i created one to turn on do not disturb focus every time i get to school, but it never works, even when my iphone is unlocked. toggle and alarm when i arrive at home also doesn't work.. these shortcuts only work when you touch their icons. what kind of "automation" is this? apple say it's because of security issues. that kind of fake automation doesn't help anyone

John Constable

6:54 or you can say "hey siri, face time john". no shortcut needed
