Hey guys! Some thoughts:
Using radar to control your phone is weird, and the LG G8 showed us is was really awkward. That being said, LG's was really hard to use. Soli already looked impressive when Google showed it off in 2014. If they've been working on it since then this could be pretty cool, depending on what applications Google comes up with. As far as marketing it to consumers.. that's a different story.
So far, in-display fingerprint readers have been found to be quite a bit less secure than traditional readers. Google probably doesn't want to use an in-screen for security purposes, but won't use a physical one because they'd look outdated. IMO, this is a really good compromise, especially if they can get it to work with a really high confidence level. I really like face unlock and being able to make payments, log into banks etc with it is super nice.
Thoughts on your end?
Business Opportunity in Ruvol
I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”
It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”
The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.
HOW IS RUVOL PLAYED and HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE IT?
I detailed everything in my YouTube video. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqth0m3-R0
BIG MONEY POTENTIAL IN RUVOL!
It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.

This sounds like trading battery life and lower prices for gimmicks. Face unlock is inferior to a fingerprint scanner for speed and neither is good for security. Bringing radar in order to help your one-purpose face cameras authorize payments slightly faster is such a shockingly inefficient system.
Pixel should stay white bread. It should all be about efficiency (cost/power use/performance), clean software, and a good user experience.
Fingers crossed it takes SD cards! The online photo storage dosnt work when traveling between country's you don't have sim cards / data for
Want to give a corporation your face too? Face ID for suckers who think a corporation will not abuse your identity.
This new radar feature looks like it shows some promise. As long as it's better than those useless camera-based hand gestures, this might the next big thing.
I'd like to see a headphone jack on Pixel 4.
Telephoto lens? No thanks ! It's not 2016 anymore, Google !
I have a question…why doesn't android have internal audio anymore????
1 month after launch: people are experiencing issues with pixel 4's radar. Google are offering services.
You keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means.
It's camera-based gesture-recognition. Not RADAR.
Perfect to obtain her coordinates 🙂
🤣
Soon enough we are not able to touch are phones
When and where will you provide results of pixel 3 xl's giveaway ?
They need to focus on hardware and marketing.. the phone looks and feels boring, it have to pay my rent every month for me to buy it ..
I find it quite dangerous when paying, the attackers only have to hold the device in front of you, and the money is transferred to an account that they have entered. I would.never use it. I still think PIN is the most secure.
Might be a solution in search of a problem.
Hope they loose the bezels and notches on the 4. The 3 is a good phone (I have one), but the screen's way behind what's currently available from other manufacturers.
I'm really exited for the phone but I'm disappointed that the design of the phone isn't that attractive. Also, they removed a camera from the front. Other than that, I think the phone is gonna be pretty good.
Do you want cancer? Because that’s how you get cancer.
LG variant doesn't use radar, only image from the camera
No more" Monster Notch". Instead" Monster Bezels. Whats next ? Torpedo launcher 🤣
Radar seriously ?!?
All these scan devices what for?
has more potentials as Work Factor Reduction for the Digital Edition of Remote Viewing.
IMO one just need 1 front facing thing if anything and that is a Large Display.
Google is a great tool to condition the industry to spend billions on advancing certain pet technologys.
More interested in a second ultra wide angle rear camera. Or bigger / better sensor technology. Those 48MP quad bayer sensor theoretically could support 10bit 4:2:2 video! Do more for video google!
And a good 4k camera with OIS for the front facing selfie camera / vlogging would be great.
Radar I can live without 🙂
