Independent listening should be there in the Samsung Buds. I use single Samsung Buds Live (left or right) for occasional non critical listening all the time at work.
I have the sennheiser and the airpods. They both sound about the same with music that isn't bass heavy. But playing a bass heavy song on apple music and it becomes clear that the sennheisers have the better experience. I'm torn because the usability feels more refined with the airpods.
I do want to ask. What's the comfort of each headphone after constant use? I bought my partner B&O eq (something) earlier this year, costs $529 + tax and it becomes an earache after 20 mins. Bose QC I are amazing and doesn't hurt even after 2 hours of constant use. If you can give any comment on that.
Brilliant review. I have used Bose QC I since they were released and to your point bass matters and bose is brilliant when it comes to music. Also I know it's a pain but I use my earphones for multiple devices / brands. 2 cellphones and laptops. Although switching between them is a pain but at least I can connect with different devices, which is my particular issue with Airpods. It's ONLY Apple friendly and in my world there's no room for that.

Samsung smoked competition out of water …their buds 2 price was dropped to just 100usd in india in sale on Amazon… unexpected but at 100 bucks ..there is no TWS can compete with it
I just picked up the QC II's yesterday. I do like them quite a lot but one annoyance that I have not heard much on reviews is that while in either sound mode, there is a low level hiss sound in the background that I find annoying, especially at this price point. It fades to the back when there's content playing, but it's always there. Is this something you noticed on yours?
Can’t you adjust the bass under EQ settings (increase bass, etc) on music app with AirPods and the volume settings in accessibility? That might make a difference try it out and see play around

I gave my AirPod pros away and decided to try the Pro 2 with great anticipation. Even though it is a fuller sound than the first gen they still don’t hold a candle to other high end earbuds as far as sound. Until Apple gives us a adjustable EQ they will always be disappointing. The adjustments in the music app just make them worse.

I'm glad the Sony WF-1000XM4 doesn't do multipoint connections. My Bose QC35 II over the ear headphones do and I have to turn off Bluetooth during the work day because of it.
The Sony WF-1000XM4 can be used independently if you don't have Google Assistant setup.

Which set is best for wind reduction in Transparency/Ambient mode when biking (particularly out of the Sennheiser and Samsung options)? I'm hoping for a TWS earbud option over the horrendous sound of Skokz bone conduction. I have a pair of Cambridge Melomania Touch that have phenomenal sound, but get a terrible wind tunnel from even walking around the office/house, and are useless for exercise activities.
