Specialized to combat piracy, trafficking, smuggling, terrorism or any other suspicious activity at sea, Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) teams train to board maritime assets with the goal to ultimately keep the sea lanes safe.
The Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) instructors deep dive into the requirements, expectations, and experiences held at the VBSS school so their Sailors leave with the understanding of their mission set to accomplish their jobs safely and efficiently.

Hopefully it's like SAR school where stringent physical fitness requirements have to be met and proper TTPs demonstrated to pass the course resulting in a high attrition rate.
Are these guys already on the ships and are in charge with security on the vessels or are they called upon to different ships at a moments notice to protect or neutralize attackers and if so why is their a need for them if the SEAL's already exist?
