UMR is crap! I have a $1400 deductible, that means I have to pay $1400 out of pocket before I get any type of actual $$ help that you would normally get from an insurance company. I go to a chiropractor every 5-6 weeks because of my job and an old injury. I don't make a lot of money, so when I go for an appointment, it really hurts in more ways than one. This is literal robbery, paying for something and getting nothing!!

If you get a job offer with UMR insurance, turn it down. If your company is planning on moving to UMR, threaten to leave and follow through if they do. UMR is by far the worst insurer I have ever had (out of eight), and I'd go as far as to to call it a straight up scam.

They lie about co-pays, their provider finder is completely unusable, and on the off chance you get to talk with a human on support, they will only ever send you in circles. If you need the promised partial coverage for an out of network provider, the provider has to jump into the morass with you, and they definitely don't have the kind of time required. That's on top of UHC's custom dialect of billing codes that your out of network provider will have to fudge to match with the service they provided.

Is this a thief company? People are paying money and nobody explains how it works, and people are afraid to use, since they don’t find customer service how it works. I don’t get it how this is referred to companies to have this kind of insurance.

I am currently a provider and I accept UMR insurance. They are doing a terrible job at completing claims. They dont have anyone answering questions at their so called Customer Service. Their claims process consist of mailing in a 1500 form. Then you never hear anything back after you have sent your clients information off into the unknown. Someone needs to investigate this company.
