When a container ship named EverGiven got stuck in the Suez Canal, it led to a series of events that can only be described as show-stopping. No literally, global trade just came to a complete stand-still. Suez Canal is just one of the many passages that are considered as choke points. These choke points are very important because Maritime transport is the backbone of international trade—approximately 80% of global merchandise is shipped via sea. The Suez Canal, The Panama Canal, Bab-el-Mandeb, The Strait of Hormuz, The Strait of Malacca, Strait of Gibraltar, The Danish Straits, The Turkish Straits and Bering Strait are few examples of Maritime Choke Points.

Of course China is increasing their presence at these points. If China's trading 'partners' did attempt to isolate them by cutting off trade then China would attempt to stop world trade and share that pain. We're marching steadily toward WWIII w/ all the pieces in place. Experts estimate 2.25 billion will die in WW3. Double or triple that w/ a nuclear winter. Sickness, mass starvation…real end times stuff.
