Hey Cavy congrats for your excellent videos and your amazing catches!! I have a question 🙋‍♂️ I saw that after the strike you push the button on your action camera. Do you have prerecording? There is possibility of prerecording?

Dan Michels

Cavy, I'm a bass fisherman from Texas whose construction job takes him all over the country. I traveled over 30,000 miles last year, and am on pace to do the same in 2022. I essentially live and work to fish, and take my gear with me everywhere I go.

First, a comment about something I saw you do for the first time in this video, and then a couple questions if you get a chance.

Everywhere I go in the US, every state, every body of water, from average neighborhood ponds, to some of the biggest lakes and rivers in the country, there is Always trash of all types laying around when I arrive. The issue has become so pervasive that it has fundamentally changed the way I look at my fishing-related activities.

I used to think I was out to have a good time enjoying nature, clearing my head of the day's stress, and catching/releasing anything that would bite. However lately I've begun to see myself as what I would like to think are more than just a few concerned anglers willing to delay casting to first clean up. I've started bringing a couple plastic trash bags tucked in my backpack, and often spend the entire 1-2 hours I've available to fish after work cleaning up the trash left behind by what seems like a growing number of losers who think it's OK to leave their indelible mark of destruction behind at the water's edge.

This platform affords you a Huge voice to speak about this growing problem to the nearly half-million people who regularly view your awesome videos. Although all of us would rather watch you catch fish, I'm sincerely grateful for seeing you mention something about the importance of Not leaving trash on the shore, and picking it up when you encounter it.

Now a couple questions about equipment and tactics if you don't mind please sir:

I'm interested in learning about the gear you use. What are the reel models/sizes you use? What rods? What line? Terminal tackle? Storage and transport containers and methods? Anything you'd be willing to share about your gear setup would be appreciated.

And then, I think I've noticed you don't really set the hook at the moment of strike, at least not in the way I was taught is best to land large mouth bass. I think it probably has a lot to do with the baits and type of fish you're targeting in primarily salt water environments, but I would appreciate any information you might care to provide about the tactics you've learned work best.

Thanks Cavy! Love watching your videos! Be safe sir.

So would it be possible that through the promotion of fishing to the masses through social media, and YouTube, that you may be contributing to increased pressure, and more people leaving behind rubbish in beautiful places?

DARK RECON

I'll never understand how the same people who utilize and enjoy Mother Nature can be the same ones to pollute it. Always pick up after yourself and leave no footprint.

I love your videos man, you’re living the life! You should make some sort of contest and whoever wins you bring out for a couple days on one of the amazing islands you go to. That would be a fun video
