Tim is throwing the Tactical Wake and topwater in crazy conditions! From high sun to heavy downpours, he’s taking everything the weather can throw his way but still catching nice fish! Come along for a fun day of topwater fishing for Largemouth and Spotted Bass!
You never know what the weather will throw your way in East Tennessee! Tim is using the Tactical Wake to locate fish and build a pattern, then catching them on a smaller Shower Blows topwater. Late Summer is a great time to focus on topwater as bass transition more and more toward baitfish. If you stick to it all day you may not get a ton of bites but you’re bound to get a BIG bite along the way.
Below you’ll find links to the exact baits Tim was throwing and the equipment he used to fish them. We’ve included the exact colors for each, and even included a couple budget combos to throw these style lures without breaking the bank. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

I’m in the market for my first big swimbait rod to use with the new tactical wake bait. Would the st croix 7’10 extra heavy bass X or victory be a good option for the tactical wake bait?
The weather is not crazy. I came to see how you fish topwater in CRAZY weather, but what I see is calm water with no or only a little bit waves.
It’s so nice to watch someone fish who isn’t glued to the graph.
Hey for big swimbaits let's just say you're on a lake with trout right.. you would throw a trout style swimbait. But if u were on a lake with bluegill/crappie/shad you would throw a some sort of pan fish imitation right? But what if your lake has everything, from trout to gills/crappie to shad. What kind of big swimbait would you throw? This has been something I could not decide on. So I stayed away from big swimbaits, but I've always wanted to throw them. Could u please help? Thank you!
I live on hartwell so I fish for a ton of spots and what I have to do if they missing it is go faster it don’t sound right but it works
Pretty cool you showing the tactical wake wont always work. That shows that you stand by it under the right conditions
Two things: Men's legs and feet aren't that pretty, put on some pants and boat shoes; For those missed strikes, take off the treble hooks and put on circle hooks, works every time.
What size shower blow size do you recommend for smallies?
Have y’all ever been to Lanier in Georgia amazing spotted bass and striper fishery
I had no idea that the Chick had Musky in it!
Is it my crappy phone or is the video quality a little blurry? 😵💫
Tim and Matt … What would be the rod you would pick if the 966 was no longer available ?
Mate, really enjoyed watching this video. Was certainly a busy few hours on the water. Just a thought, have you considered using Assist hooks on the lure's back split ring ? May help when the fish are a bit skittish and not fully committing to the lure. Yeah, some nice fish. Stay dry. Cheers 😀👍
Hi Tim…had a question about your trolling motor set up. Are you using both mega 360 and mega live on a target lock setup?? Can you do a video about the likes or dislikes on the target lock. Are they compatible with other trolling motors?? I can’t afford a new ultrex but am interested in mega live and target lock. What are your thoughts??
Yeah 3ft muskie is definitely "small" 6:14
Where can I grab a pair of those tactical shorts you’ve got on? I just ordered my khaki digi camo reaper hoodie. Can’t wait till it gets here!
What knot did you tie at 9:30 on the 105 Shower?
That rain turned tactical
Awsome content!!! Me likey the TOPWATER!!!
Anyone know if he was twitchin' the wakebait, instead of the traditional slow crank…sure looked like it
Can you do some more vids with your Apex and target lock
Beautiful lake . Don’t see to many without homes anymore .
Would that chrome top water work here on the Delta?
Tim do you think that y'all could do a buyer's guide on portable fish finders for bank fishing? Or suggest one that's the best bang for a buck on a budget 😜?
I hate to say it but it makes me feel better when you miss fish as well
The drag click….. why? how? I want that!
How did you notice the sound went out? Did it fix itself somehow or did you check and notice?
9:43 Can anyone help me out with what knot he tied on here??
That's a sweet cast at 4:23 right under that lay down with a big bait. 👍👏
Gotta love that Shower Blow!!!! I've had a forty bass day in three hours using that one. Thanks Tim
