#ProjectSnowman #fleetFX #twinstickgarage
On this episode I continue with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? “Oh that’s great psychology, why don’t you just say something bad about my mother”
So Graham, a top installer from FleetFX graphics in Edmonton, AB (@inst.grahams on IG) came out today to put on the finishing touch to the bodywork on #ProjectSnowman and add the gold wrap. After studying both the ’73 and the ’74 trucks used in the movie, he got started cleaning off all the wax and rubbing compound left behind after I attempted to improve my paint job then started to layout the gold. I can’t say how sharp that looks now but we did hit a snag when the pin striping (a different brand from the 3M the gold sheets are made of, didn’t quite match so we elected to leave that off for now while Graham goes back to get some new stripes cut – we’ll put on in a future episode. Looks great to me and now one step closer to getting it done. Graham’s not looking forward to putting the Stagecoach wrap on the trailer though as that’s going to be a ton of work…
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go … I do all my own stunts
Enjoy watching the progress of this Kenworth W900A project, the ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

I noticed something when you were doing the comparison of the stripes and how the angles weren't the same, if you look closely at the '73 right behind Jerry's back you'll see the lower part of the cab is black so that must be how the angles of the stripes got misaligned. 🤷♂
You should do “Bj & The Bear”👍👍👍
That is lookin’ sweet !!! The pinstriping, yep, replace it with the right stuff. Super nice wrap job, it looks like paint. If you wanted to be “authentic”, painting it on would have been the right thing to do. Other than that, looks awesome.
I can't wait to see snowman go on the road
i like the pinstriping being a little different
Those stripes brought her to life cant wait for the finished product
Well I'm definitely quitting my day job and going into vinyl rapping but I well have to have a radio playing all day! Yep Gonna be rich soon enough 🤪🤪😜😝lol. Looks amazing driv,ah. And I can tell that this rig is keeping you in shape looking like you been bustin it out at the gym lately… can't even imagine how it would feel to lay awake at night and just know you have built one of the BADDEST RIG'S IN HISTORY what a once and a lifetime feeling…god bless you and this rig…

That wrap looks great Mark, see you at the truck show
AMAZING… I hope you show the trailer being wrapped too.. GREAT JOB!!!
That young man knows his stuff and is doing an amazing job of applying the wrap. It really does transform the look of the entire truck. That being said, you also did an amazing job of painting that truck. Probably one of the more difficult colours to lay down but also very unforgiving of shoddy body work. You knocked it out of the park on terms of both body work and final paint, especially for a novice painter. One of my favorite channels, and hopefully one of these days, I can stop by and buy you a Coors…
Wrap looks great!
Can't believe no one is talking about the crank ring tone. 🤣
That really turned out nice.
Let's go get beer 🍺!!!
Mark! You're so tricky bending time with how you post videos!… Lol…anyway, heart sank when you said no Snowman in Leduc next weekend, BUT…..it'll be so awesome to see LBL, myself and sons, who have both gone on a trip with me trucking are SO excited to see you and whatever you bring! Next weekend bucko! See ya there
Great work. Looking great.
This is going to be the most accurate snowman truck
Great looking truck! In my opinion. Should have done the gold in paint like the original. The vinyl wrap dude did an awesome job don't get me wrong!! I'm an auto body paint person though. Lol. Beautiful truck!!!
Didn't get a chance to watch yesterday. But wow is it looking sharp
Looks amazing 👏 the wrap guy is a master!!! Great work 👏 proper job
Ooooh man, now it looks better and better! And Graham is doing a professional job…respect! There are two professionals together. ✌👍 Thinking back how the truck looks when you bought it and now such a result…brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Maybe I can make a plan to visit Canada next year including the truck show…??? Take care!
Nice to see your dream come to life Mark.
Wow, looks awesome.. Nice job.
Hay Mark. Starting to look really really good.
Rather see you take your time and get it right.
Hmm! OK then yes she's looking good in this restoration! Showitoff_#snowman would approve 😉👍
Who's really "Top of the Line" "Crème de la crème" Kenworth or Peterbuilt?
after watching this truck come together i had to dig out the DVD and watch the movie! My first crush was on the flying nun and frog doesn't look much older in the movie and still just as cute!
Can not wait to see this truck completed. Then you have to build your wife a fire bird to keep Buford out of your mirrors! lol
Looks awesome 👌 I've been enjoying you do this build and take us along for the ride! Very cool and thank you for taking it on.
What a nice, patient and conscientious guy Graham is – well done, even with him having "Mother Duck" clucking and fussing and asking 1000's of questions, – haha, just kidding, I would be exactly the same Mark, in fact worse, given the hours and $ that's gone into the truck so far – the day its finished, as you American guys say – it's going to POP! (PS. It's a thrill for us too.)
Looking good 👍
🇧🇷 Brasil tá ficando top parabéns belo trabalho 👍
Hey twin sticks I don't know if you remember I commented your last video about that white semi truck I got out of the bush every time you push the brake it leaks air and I'm a trucker but I'm not a mechanic I don't know what to do
I’ll tell you, I am pretty impressed with how it’s turning out.
Sharp, Sharp very nice looking Mark
Do you have to clear coat over the wrap?
Why not paint the rest
Thanks for sharing.
What model engine did the original truck in the movie 🎥 have??”
Good job !! be cool! we are justice.
This is the part I've been waiting for, where it magical transforms into Snowman's truck. Cletus (Jerry Reed) would be so proud of the job you've done so far and the bandit as well. Any plans of finding a Trans am in the future?
