That's a terrible knot actually, you'd be much better off with a simple Palomar knot.
Is there a video with this knot being put to the test for strength and slipping?
If you just slip the hook through the lower loop that you create after winding and pulling back through the hole you just have an improved polymer knot and only have to cut tag end
That loop should of go over the hook after tying 5-6 times then cinch it

also you should moisten the line when you tighten a cinch knot. you do this because the line can actually heat up due to friction and cause weak spots. The Palomar is the best knot .is one that gives 100 percent line strength

I'm not understanding how it's a good idea to cut that loop end off like that… If that pulls back out under pressure, that whole tie comes loose… But then again, I just realized that's how all knots work, huh? LoL!!!
