Christmas Fly Fishing on the TULLY 2022
Merry Christmas everyone! My present to my Tully home boys. Well, through all the snow, sleet and rain, we found some hungry cooperative fish. The micro San Juan Worm and the black midge pupa stole the show today. We caught them in all water types, don’t overlook that flat featureless looking water, you could be missing some of the best Winter fishing. You might have to brave some of Mother Nature’s elements, but some great memories could be made also.

Hi Scott and Merry Christmas! I was glad to see those browns because I was concerned about their condition from all the high water temps and low flows from this past summer. I was finally able to fish for the first time since the beginning of April because of all the surgeries and went to the little J in early November and did very well…sadly, haven't been back out since. Sorry about the lack of comments, I've been watching, but on the TV instead of the laptop!

Sometimes the best fishing is in the worst weather. Certainly reduces the crowds. I've had lots of success on micro San Juan worms. For your micro egg, what size hook are you using? Are you using the Eggstacy Nano material or what? You mentioned that your standard egg is about a size 16, which I think of as a pretty small egg already. Any bead on your egg, or are you relying just on the split shot you add above? Always enjoy your videos Scott.

Merry Christmas, Scott. I was there on Wednesday when the water was up bit. Not near as productive as yourThursday for sure, but a decent day for the short time there. Water was so cold I had to get out.

How are you liking the Shadow X ? I picked one up in 2 weight a couple of weeks ago but haven’t had a chance to fish it yet. It’s a feather for sure. If you’re not aware, spare tip sections are available for a very reasonable price, under $50 as I recall. I purchased one as a spare. Red’s Fly Shop has them in inventory and they qualify for or near the dollar amount for free shipping. If any section breaks it’ll be the tip. Why wait for warranty at that price, keep on fishing.
Whenever the trout get the word that Scott’s in town, they know they’re in trouble. 😳
