Today we are starting a new chain driven 4WD project. In this video we get everything laid out and start working on building the frame. we get the front A-arms built and tacked into place and also decide where the seats are going to go.

Hey I learned welding in the Navy. I have a nice Miller welder. Wondering where you get your metal from? I’m also here in North Carolina. Morganton area. Love your builds. Just wanting to support local businesses and want to get steel local. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris.
Why chain driven and not belt?
Keep going and still watching till you finish it 😎 bro…from Paris
Great video! Love the project and thought behind it, Im studying mechanical engineering and this is the stuff that made me choose it. <3
Anyone else wanna see a lowrider from Chris? Lol
loved your video man hope you have a great day
The engine need to be more in the center for a trophy truck to get more control on the front wheel. Otherwise you will get the front axel the traction of a sandrail!
YOU NEED TO RUN 2 MOTORS.
Im looking at this, and thinking you should try a front engine Hyabusa powered T bucket that is off road capable
Don't forget you will get some "suspension" travel from the tyres too.
Please I really do hope u add doors, I'm actually looking forward to seeing how you will pull it off👍
Need to get hold of David Tucker from DT Machine in Springfield Oregon and talk to him about air bumps, and maybe even shocks
What kind of hp will that engine put to those wheels?
Are they going to bind up if you are turning the wheel while the suspension is collapsed
Two more chains and you could have yourself some portal spindles in the front, would gain some travel.
I had a thought about this but you are making it reality. Very cool
I'd recommend to bend the bottom tube inward so your footwells would be a little smaller. Then bring the top bar down to the bottom one at an angle from the edge of the backrest to the front edge of the butt of the seat. That should make it look a little sleaker in the front
Hello Chris, I love watching your videos because you are a master at machining and building. I would love to do it more but I do Mechanical engineering and haved designed many machines. But mostly I do intermidiate racing with YFZ 450r watch my channel. But, I've gotta say sorry I hate it when you screw up things like all of this build. Just try out racing a little bit more you will realize how much R&D needed to have speed and reliability. Not mad I just want to say go see atv races , short track sportsman and mini legend, sxs blog on youtube for sxs's . Drag racing for sure. You have a huge builder potential. STOP USING PARTS USED ON FARM EQUIPEMENT. I love the mini's with the go powersports things . For the younger. You need to step up and learn Racing. Wish you the best. Never give up. no matter what I said.
Why the chains
A diesel engine would work so much better with this setup, like a small Cummings, with a real transmission and transfercase
you are going to break that poor bike transmission …. i bet on your first downshift you are gonna rip the dogs out of those damn gears and the hole block is gonna blow up to pieces
Seeing the frame that low makes me think it would be really cool if you set it up with air bags and long travel shocks instead of coilovers. Then you could air it down and drive around the parking lot with it laying on the ground
being that low to the ground you better have some robust skid plates
