For the bsck box/cabbin, consider having expanding side walls and floors that you can wind out. This could give you almost twice the floor area for gaming/sleeping.

BTW, any heavy engine work, like heads or even engine replacement the cab has to come off for that…just FYI

When building your camper, be EXTRA careful with your mass and CG! These pictures of broken frames are from people who horribly overloaded the truck. Max capacity is for standard cab, 2wd models. Add extra doors and 4wd and the capacity is reduced. Be sure you are looking at the right numbers.

Oh man, do yourself a favor.
that crossmember that goes between the fame rails right under the oil pan. cut it out and fab a removable one that bolts in. If you even have to replace an oil pan or do any work to the bottom end of that motor, it will allow you to do it with the motor still in the truck otherwise it’s completely in the way.
I’m pretty sure that’s a pre facelift 3rd gen so 2003-2005..
the max payload and towing in those years are not super high. Like 4500ish Payload and 15k towing.
Should still do what you’re wanting. But you might want to check the specs again.
Keep doing what you are doing, just please know the payload of the crew cab Dodge 4WD so you know how much weight can be placed on the truck, including people. When I saw all the stuff you wanted to add I thought you should know as best as you can how much weight is being added, even on a HD dually. Hope it goes well.

Please consider fishplating those frame rails! Two more pieces of plate connecting the two frame sections would ensure any issues with the weld, heat affected zone etc, arent factors for the strength of it.

#BISFORBUILD if I were you I would eliminate that second row of seats make it one side a closet and tha other half a bathroom so you can have in tha camper has much space has possible and right in tha back your mini garage for your tools hope my idea helps in your disinged
Since vans have gotten ridiculously expensive i have thought about doing something similar to my truck for work purposes! Will definitely enjoy this series to possibly build out my work truck

Chris PLEASE study your specific truck's towing, payload, and axle capacities. That's why people are breaking these new trucks, they are using the advertised figures as their individual truck's capacities.

Why is your rendering a 4th gen when your truck is a 3rd. Ya design it for a different truck that won't cause tons of little unforseen problems. I don't understand 😕

so Just a question why don't you weld the frames with a z weld it makes them stronger than OEM its the way we weld Big rig frames.
Having 3 gaming areas with desktop? + 4 bunk beds. This will be a tight fit, or you plan to use a modular space (side walls that can extend like some RV conversion done on old military trucks)? Anyway, will love to watch it, for once it will be a RV where I won't have to expect the :"see my "dream" life in my RV"
You should really put a fish plate on those frame sections. Especially if you are going to put a winch bumper on so you can self recover when you get stuck off road.
