Can’t believe we live in a day and age where a completely base model, single cab, v6 half ton costs $40k…

Nanny state safety requirements, unrealistic cafe standards and way to much options standard. If somebody could bring back a simple no frills vehicle that is easy to maintain and repair with minimal electronics smart people would pony up

The recent Feb 2, 2023 Winter Blast of Deep cold (-20 C or -5 F) weather in the Northeast, and Southern States and in Canada has REALLY ILLUSTRATED HOW IMPORTANT that trucks and cars MUST COME WITH on-board power generation similar to Ford's 2.4 KW, 7.2 KW and 9.6 KW Pro-Power bed-installed truck electrical power generators!

The ability to EXPORT POWER to your home to power your heaters, washers, dryers and stoves is now one of the MOST IMPORTANT REASONS to buy vehicles that can output lots of electricity for immediate household and campsite or worksite needs!

In fact, I say that ALL manufacturers INCLUDE at least 12.5 KW worth on-board electrical power generation with at least two 240V/30A plugs and at least eight 120V/20A plugs and at least 8 USB-3/4 charging ports and at least four 12V DC ports for use with the older 12 volt DC-powered applicances!

With such technology available, you could power-through a major weather event such as ice-and-snowstorms, hurricanes, tornados, floods and more. I would also SUGGEST installing a standard mini-fuel cell in the 12.5 KW system that can accept simple and ubiquitous 20 lbs PROPANE BBQ TANKS as the fuel source so that QUIET power generation can STILL occur if the vehicle battery charge is fully depleted!

Ford, GMC/Chevy, RAM, Toyota, Nissan ALL need to STEP UP their on-board power generation game with AT LEAST 12.5 KW power generators installed AS STANDARD OPTIONS and have an extra Propane-based QUIET mini-fuel cell installed onboard that accepts 20 Lbs BBQ tanks as a fuel source. These recent severe weather events in North America have shown JUST HOW IMPORTANT those types of features are in modern vehicles!

was considering all three classes and ram was classic very similar to how I was going to configure it. went with the ranger xl fx4 supercab. figured the ranger would do better in the muck of ks Rural roads. $34k was cheaper then the other two

Dwealdric

I have the Ranger in Tremor Lariat trim. I love everything about it except for the fact that its a mid size. Great little truck. Has quite a lot of features for its price point.

YOU CAN NOT TOUCH A 4X4 RANGER UNDER 45k ESPECIALLY WITH FX4 PKG

Martin Griggs

I bought the same Ram they did. $38k out the door. I wanted a full size truck, and didn't need a back seat. I like it a lot.

Hey I will be in Denver at the end of Feb and I am looking for a 23 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. Do you have any recommendations in terms of dealers? I ask bc I am trading in my 2018 JLU Rubicon which is fully build out and I recall Tommy mentioning that Jeeps had some of the highest resale values in CO. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Big Jeff12

What’s all that white stuff on the ground?

dsmvr4

Would love to see a head to head comparison between Ranger/Colorado/Tacoma midsize trucks vs the full size Ram 1500 Pentastar V6. Including towing mpg, Ike gauntlet, cargo volume/capacity, 4×4 obstacles (if equipped). Which is the best v6 truck for the small time contractor/craftsman.

Enes Hadziselimovic

Good video. After reading most of comment's. Would like to add that Colorado cost of living is pretty high. That said $40k there is comparable to $32k-$35k in some other states.

sierraharvester

Why is the Maverick not in this lineup?

J Shapiro

These midsized trucks should be 30k not 40

Stephen Dodson

I watched the first few seconds, and there is only 1 truck in this video. The other 2 are cars pretending to be trucks.

Martin LeBreton

Get a wheelbarrow and keep the 39,900$ for yourself.

Chele Chillen

I'm over here looking at 200k 1st gen 4wd Tundras for $10k. Hard pill to swallow but ain't no way I can afford a current truck. A Maverick would be cool though.

Santa cruz is a waste of money. 40k for a Hyundai brand new that has a transmission recall. Helloooooo

Badger 1

The fact you have a Hyundai even in a video means I’m unsubbing because either you don’t care anymore or you’re just that bad at this. Bye!

Genevieve

40K jeez unaffordable, luckily we can finance.

trwsandford

or, if you need a full size bed, Get a used Lincoln Town Car.😁

I really like Stubby. Great honest truck.

Boba Fatt

Bring back the small truck that is truly affordable $20,000 & under

The Fat Nomad

Two of those aren't trucks.

Ryan E

The Hyundai shifter looks like somebody went to the bargain bin and grabbed a putter and just stuck it on there

Taylor Pinto

What about a toyota tacoma or nissan frontier? The santa cruz? cmon… lol
