Otters and owls and snakes, oh my. You have a wonderful wild life sanctuary there. It’s a beautiful spot.

The rain will wash away the sand.

I've got a PC 18 MR KOMATSU with a kubota engine. I don't think you can go wrong with those little excavators new, it's just amazing what they can do….👍

Tony Lander

I didn't read the comments but when running the excavator keep the rpm right up even when moving the machine, it needs the oil to drive the pumps ….. just sayin 🤷

To whom this may concern, the Bible teaches us that a wise man builds his house on a rock. I'm very concerned about your current situation because there is a lot of swamp land that is being sold that is actually not fit to build or live on. If it were me I recommend you look for a Geologist in your area that can tell you more about your property. A Geologist has access to data in areas such as yours and that data should be free. There are many Geologist that don't mind helping others so long as they need and want the help. From what I've seen in your video you're basically surrounded by a swamp and I don't think 10,000 loads of sand will correct the problem. Before I would invest anymore of your money into the property I would seek a Geologist and ask his personal opinion in regard to your investment. There should be topical graphic surveys aka topo maps already done in that area and in most cases you can obtain them free of charge. Dump trucks don't just sink into the ground twice in different areas unless there is a problem. You really need to know what that underlying problem is before investing anymore into it. God Bless

I had an owl land on my rear porch and didnt know what it was [so 'ugly']. I scared it away and then realized what it was and what I just did. I so regret doing it.

You are in FL which is built over wetlands. Possible sink hole in the making. I would stay away from large holes. Looking forward to seeing all the sand throughout the property. Stay safe. Stay well.

Adventures of living in a swamp.. Bail out of Florida…😵 Are permits needed to fill in a wetlands in that area?

We moved from SW/MI to the space coast of FL., here's a couple things we've learned.
-If you have any aversion to AC, you'll probably need to get past that:) AC makes FL living bearable, even pleasant (IMO). Obviously there was a time when many FL residents didn't have AC, not anymore. Grid power tends to be less expensive here than up north, so running AC isn't cost prohibitive. You will gradually acclimate to the hot/humid conditions, when you do, 80deg indoors will feel fine, takes just a bit of getting used to.
-Don't skimp on ceiling fans, you'll use them a lot.
-Keep an eye on ponds and such, gators and water critters are quite mobile certain times of the year.
-Learn to appreciate your geckos (even though they like to sneak indoors sometimes); next to your bug guy, they are your best ally for bug control (BTW, you will need a bug guy too:).
-The State bird is the mocking bird. They like to make nests in shrubs and short bushes, if you get anywhere near their nest they will pester you aggressively until the hatchlings are out of the nest. Interesting but can be annoying too. We had a nest in a bush near our mail box, it was slightly hazardous just collecting our mail..that bush is gone:)

I have just subscribed and I did so because I find your channel fun to watch. your progress. And your trouble shooting skills are a level above. Sorry to hear about negativety.

Chuckie

You need to have the ground surveyed, you might have some sink holes. In the area you are in its very common.

Janie BoBanie

Florida is famous for its sink holes. Hope that’s not what it is.

It looks like an old leach bed or septic system…. I have a pond on my property. The water table therefore is high and I am sure I have some holes like that. Fill will help keep you high and dry. My house sits on the fill of an old railroad bed. Still find spikes and old rail ties….That pond is awesome…we love ours.

Donna Earnhardt

Could it possibly be a sink hole? Possible ultrasound to find out for for sure? Scary… Great work on your property!

Chef Evi Lee

Well Florida is comprised of a bunch of natural springs. They start up like that and then become hot boils. Then they become Springs. So in the future you might have your own spring out your back door! That would be a cool blessing

Kathy bond

Yes, there is always something. However, you adapt and overcome. Your children are learning resiliency. Excellent!
