Broken Plow Truck Breaks Me – K3500 Power Steering

This 1999 GMC K3500 had a power steering leak, which turned into a power steering pump, which turned into a nightmare.

Just a suggestion you can also fill power steering tank do not start truck Jack front end up turn key to on but don’t start engine turn wheels side to side as far as they will go I normally turn to each side 5 times check fluid add as needed then pump brakes same amount finally start engine and you should be good this procedure works on gas or diesel GM with hydroboost.

I've been missing the sighing recently so glad it's back with a vengeance.

Steven Beasley

Need to use some brake cleaner.. It washes away the nightmare…

Hang in there Wes. We're pulling for ya. We're all in this together 😉

Cesar Gallo

Wes, I don't know how it works there in USA, but this kind of jobs have to be charged by time incurred, not by the book. Once you crack a bolt loose these trucks fall apart.

Tom Dalton

Why remove the old hose with wrenches? Cut hose odd…use socket on now exposed fitting.

Your comedy routine broke me in this video, Wes. Please do more plow trucks so that the laughs keep coming.

Mike Brunner

You will continue to fix the Junk, as you always do. Another truck saved. Way to go Wes. If you can not fix, it should not be on the road.

Late to the party, but I have to vote for Southern Cross. We got 80 feet of waterline nicely making way.

Great job Wes, keep up the good fight.

Although the batteries are probably junk on this, I put upgraded battery and starter cables on my 99 6.5 truck…turns over MUCH better

Wooden Ships, Marrakech Express and Suite: Judy BlueEyes for me. RIP David Crosby.

In sympathy from Canada. I hate these rust buckets. A simple job turns into a battle of hammers and torches and broken parts.

I think Max needs a friend….

Crosby will be missed

you were speaking about dielectric grease on electrical connections and there were many that were concerned. Truth is that you can use any grease when corrosion is a concern. I have been doing this for over 51 years think the proof is in how long will it last. Aways you will have an onode and cathode and with any dissimilar materials with electrical connections you can material displacement, then add oxygen and you will have corrosion. Grease helps oxgen not getting to the mating parts. There is more science for this that does not need to be explained.
Good work!
Best to you.

When the job is done, all buttoned up, but the video is only halfway done….

What Went Wrong, Wes?

Wassup are you going to do a video on the gold wing

You should open chop in Quebec! Small plow trucks aren't allowed anymore. We just have too mutch snow. Plow trucks can just push snow on the sides. It cause too mutch restriction on trafic. Now if you want to Do driveways, you must use a small tractor with a Blade and a powerfull snowblower to shoot over the snow bank. It takes a permit to Do snowplowing, and you wont get one if not insured and equiped with a tractorblower

Ger's Square !!

Can't blame ya !!! Too much effort for the reward .

Gerry Clark

Thanks Wes, tough when so much stuff is jacked up,

Thank you Wes for yet another great episode! You spoke of a great song that you could not share due to copyright infringement. I thought of another song that I cannot share due to copyright infringement, but it has a lot to do with your choice of working on old, rusty, crusty plow trucks. It goes something like "You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run". I know that whatever you choose to do it will be in your best interest for your future.
