It was a Peugeot 405, not 205. Sorry about the misleading fact ☺️
Proud to be DUTCH! Jan de ROOIJ is a legaint !
It was very sad when the truck had that fatal accent.
See that poor man laying in the dessert was terrible.
R.I.P.🇳🇱😞
Better times. I hope the snowflakes get overthrown and real racing can come back.
Would have been nice if this had picked up in America 😅I’d rather watch this than mudding, rock bouncing etc.
I really like your vids, but please take some English lessons… It hard the focus on the interesting things you say when you sound like that….keep posting 👍
it wasnt too powerful, the rest was just crap. they were the best
Wow that's a big car lol. But I wished they would being this truck back. It's amazing!!
Wow. That truck was mental.
What beast, the image going past the car is amazing.
There was another Truck that beat every one, I only remember it as it made the news in the UK, It was a support truck that was purpose built by one of the teams to carry their parts tools etc to repair the Race car the team was running, Being a Pro team they had LOTS of money behind them so they Custom built this truck … It did so well it not only beat the car it was supporting it beat every other car truck and bike in that years race….If it had been registered as one of the race cars it would have won…. if only they had registered it as a race car lol
Always been a fan of the Paris to Dakar
Great video. Thank you.

I have 4 dafs great trucks🦾
Aaah the 80s. When it was normal to ride my city's freeway at 160kph if you're in a rush, with no seatbelt, while chainsmoking after a few beers. Now it is mandatory 70, in a plastic thing with more airbags than engine weight.
Duff, Homer Simpson's beer of choice!
🤙
good times, when the rally really went all the way to Dakar🤣
That was amazing. 👍
I used this truck in the game "Dakar rally", even in the game it's extremely overpowered and gets you a win all the time. Although it's not that reliable and gets damaged real quick if not careful..
Trucks can be that fast. The only thing that made the rally scene in the 80's great was the outrageous power people can put in big bodied vehicles and the lack of regulations to do so was incredible.
Remember that first year that had the truck with a cab at each end?
6 turbos lol that’s so sick
I’m pretty sure I had a vhs given by one of my uncles of these races and trucks like and inspired by these ones, it’s why I like certain types of trucks now like scania and solid chassis trucks
So many Havoc videos of Dakar and these trucks, unreal. Had no idea things were so far along. The 80s were such a wild west era of motorsport, but most especially in off road formulas of the era it seems.
