Welding the old bolt holes and grinding them down doesn't restore strength in the frame. and wtf…..Bondo the FRAME so it looks better!???? Either they are very vain but look at the old truck. WHO CARES!!!?? Perhaps the local authorities???? Anyway, it seems to work and nobody got hurt, so it gets the job done.
Look at those spring packs. These modified trucks are pounding down the roads with that much weight on single axles? No wonder their roads are shit with 4ft deep potholes!!!
I would really like to send these guys some decent air tools.

If you guys invested in a Impact Gun the job would be done much faster, you already have a compressor running in the background so why not?
what a bodge…the chassis bolt holes plugged with old bolt and surface welded. no full chassis penetration so no strength. the weld slag not cleared after every strike of arc so loads of slag inclusion. then to mount the axle so far back on the rails. theres no structural support so either the chassis ends will twist or crack. why do these people think they know better than the manufacturer. the chassis was designed to locate the axles for a load and strength reason.. then consider how much weight the front axle will now increase as the back axle is carrying less. then add the usual overloading weight. this project wasnt thought through at all.
