It’s a racket. Between the towing yard and cops. We have literally fought with tow yards and cops. Cop sees a car he likes or the tow yard it gets picked up and boom it’s there’s now

Jason Rogers

Wait so Sam has his own shop?

codyology

😆 I bet that dude was really dang surprised coming out to find the truck gone or getting the call.

Tj Reinhard

your flag is improperly displayed. The feild of blue should be on the left.

Danny Martin

Same thing happened to me with my car

ChrisEsposito

GET A LAWYER …… FILE SUIT AGAINTS THE PEOPLE WHO SOLD THE TRUCK

Legend

Yeah the company has to contact you and it shouldn't have ever been sold cause its flagged as stolen, so they shouldn't have sold it to recover there tow charges

Legend

Heck the wrecking company might have stole the dang thing to start with it kind of sounds like

David Floer

Put trackers on all your vehicles! Insurance on the fly.

Bob Payne

Hertz had a car in storage at tow yard and didn't pick it up. It was auctioned and sold with new title to individual. They said they didn't get notified so they reposted the car from registered owner. The exact opposite

Cecil McKeithan

Please follow up on this and get to the bottom of it. Can you imagine how many people this could be happening to and has no clue. Never know police could be getting kick backs working with the tow yard. Let’s face it you can’t trust anyone anymore 😢

madpainter69

most of the time there from the towing part is mostly completely set up to scam people out of there vehicles.. almost every time a vehicle is towed to a tow lot…

Cecil McKeithan

Just wait the police will tell the guy that had your truck the same thing when they sell it out from under him.

Aaron M. Solomon

Michigan man says: plenty of things can go down without "our knowledge". Good luck with your truck situation having a speedy resolution.

Daniel Hosey

I use to drive a wrecker they can't do anything with any vehicles until 90 days are up then they have to go threw a process of doing anything with it

Leo Slayer

Put out the name of the detective.

Jon Mason

I am sorry this happened I had something like this happen but I was the buyer of a vehicle at an auction i brought the car home had it for a few weeks when it disappeared while I was at work the original owner had came and took the car back and I found it on my way home a few days later the cops were called by by ex girlfriend at the time because I told her I was going to take the car back and when the cop's showed up they told me I could not take the car even though I bought it from the tow yard and had the AVR witch is the paperwork they give you when u buy a vehicle from auction they told me that since he was still the registered owner of the vehicle their was nothing I could do and I wasn't going to lose 4,000 I had just gave for this car so I left took the paperwork I had to the DMV put the car in name and went back and took the car that same day because in my situation the guy ran from the police and was arrested for trafficking and he was out on bail I was told so that's why the car was impounded in the first place so it was a much different situation than being stolen. All tow yards must notify the original owner that the vehicle but phone Mail or in person that the vehicle has been impounded and if no one shows up to pick the vehicle up it must be auctioned off in 30 to 45 days of the tow or impound to pay for the tow bill and fees whatever the vehicle is sold for at the auction will be put towards thr bill and the owner is libel to pay the rest of the bill if not payed the state will take your license and the bill will go to collections. So u definitely need to contact the tow company and make sure they have not sent your bill to collections yet because even though it was stolen you are still liable for the payment which is really messed up. Sorry this happened to you.

When I was 25 I had my 71 Chevelle "legally" stolen from me in a "similar" manner..
just found out my grandpa sold the farm house & I had three days to move all my cars.
77 Scottsdale short bed, 83 anniversary edition RX7, Bult 84 Z28 & my baby the Chevelle..
A real clean rust free stick car I bought when I was 17. I was renting a room & was only alowd 1 car whear i lived. (my Winter beter/ dayly was a 78 Malibu Wagon) the Chevelle had been stored in 3 different locations over the years as a roller. because the 350 I started to put in @ 17 had 25% of one of the rods in the oil pan! 😛(it was out of my 73 SS Nova I slod to buy the chevelle) They all had good tags except for the roller. My landlord let me bring the Camaro home & said to park the RX7 & Square at her work, (she managed a Carquest) until I made other arrangements, just had to move em every two days.. & I had reluctantly agreed to sell the Chevelle real cheep to an acquaintance. by the time I gotten all the logistics worked out, borrowed a friend's truck & rented a tow dolly.. I had about 9 hours to move the 4 cars from the farm house. (thats an 1.5 hr drive to). I had gotten the first two moved & was droping off the Chevelle & theguy backs out saying his wife is mad because rilly needto buy a truck first! He didn't know I had a truck too, So out of out of desperation! I offeried him the same deal for the truck if I could park Chevelle there for a couple days till I figure out where to put it. & he jumped at it! everyone was happy, he even said he had a buddy who owes him a favor & will tow it for free.
By the time i dropped the truck off, A close friends dad said I can bring it to their house the next day, just as long as I promise not to sell it to his son! I had a overwhelming feeling of relief, even though I was completely broke by the end of ther night to the poing i was $35 short on rent in the morning.. I had managed to get everything done before the deadline! Then I check my voicemail & and there's a message from the sheriff about my Chevelle! Apparently after I left, he pushed the Chevelle down the street into a grade school parking lot & and his police officer brother-in-law called in a sheriff Tow to his buddys tow yard! By the I fiound out where the car was taken to 2 day had pased & IIRC it was $500 for the sheriff Tow & $150 a day for storage.. $800 total & my next paycheck was in two weeks so it was going to cost me almost 3K to get my car back & at 25 I only made like $3k a munth so it was gone. 😞

Oh I would loose my mind over the truck deal. I would push that and make sure it got on the news

there should of been a letter sent out saying it was going to be auctioned off!! there is rules they have to follow and the police should of called you to when they found it and im sure the can track or check call logs

Seon in Theory

Sounds like somebody dropped the ball for sure on the recovery side. I can't wait to see the update on this.

Adam Dornquast

sounds to me like a crooked person at the tow yard

Robert DeForge

The tow company/ yard should have to file a lean on the truck for the towing and storage. There should be a record someplace. You need a lawyer.

Scott Smith

Second comment, I bet this happens more than we know, damn dirtbags will do anything to steal a buck

Icekallt

can you get an call list from your phone provider? should show if the person even did try to call you .

Scott Smith

Man oh man that's a load of crap, hopefully you can get something straightened out

motownXJdad

i would have told them to go pack sand, you had the keys, the title in your name, and the truck itself, possesion is 910ths of the law. those towing companies and police are always in cahoots together, 100% a cop or that detective are getting a kickback from the towing company. its been a scam for decades. report that crap to the michigan attorney general for fraud by Beyers

Keith Wingfield

GET A LAWYER!

James Workman

Sounds like Clarkston PD lol 😂

David Farrens

It' happens Way more than you know. It' happened to me.
