why not stop talking about this? all it is that players crying over everything that Mojang doing to the Minecraft kids, beggars can't be choosers and you'll win some and you'll lose some, or lose allot.
I think people need to learn to be patient and be happy mojang is even adding things to the game period. Back when I was a kid we had playstation, xbox, GameCube, ect…. which however comes with games that are already made and we were taught to be greatful for what the game has to offer. That taught me to be greatful for the games I played.
1.20 random bullshit update
there is 3 sides too the minecraft community, the mojang supporters that agree with them with every feature, the people who dont care and are happy with updates every year,
and the entitled side that thinks mojang has royally screwed up and that they need to be replaced and random petty stuff, no doubt everyone hates the chat reporting system but this sense of entitlement a side of this community has is insane tho, my opinion is that yeah chat reporting is sucky but mojang makes up with wonderful updates each year, and truth betold there people not a robot giving you updates there not modders that stay up late , they have lifes they work at a company.
What annoys me about Mojang is that they keep thinking Minecraft is some realistic game. Frogs can get poisoned from fireflies? Removed. Too dangerous to ride dolphins? Nope, never going to be implemented. My brothers in Christ it is a fictional game. Stop adding real mobs. We need more fantasy ones. Also, they REFUSE to add item drops to a lot of those animals because "Rewarding the player for killing them would stimulate violence towards those animals in real life".
Like, WHAT? They're basically saying that a 12 year old will become a poacher because of Minecraft!?. Either they (God Forbid) took the video games cause violence argument or the joke that "I've killed a lot of people in minecraft, therefore I'm a bad person IRL," seriously.
One can get upset about some stuff. But you haven't seen BAD if you think Mojang is bad.
I do agree that Mojang needs more time but I do feel that some Minecraft mods are so much better than any of the updates we have had so far take the lord of the rings mod for example it is still on 1.7.10 and its still better than the features added in 1.19 and many other updates I do agree with you on most of this though
I think the backlash started with 1.16, showing a lot when announcing 1.16-1.19. Only to have to take features out because they either couldn't make it, or like the fire flies, no longer served purpose. Although the fireflies are controversial as they could have been simply for ambient atmosphere in the game. And a further idea they could have made firefly lanterns to give them a bit more purpose. With that they could have added dynamic lighting in my opinion. So with the backlash already there and the underwhelming 1.20 announcement. I believe it would have been better if they at least had a name when announcing 1.20. They explained why they didn't announce a lot of the update. As it's currently features that were planed and really close to being completed, possibly from previous updates. It seeps To be a creator update with new blocks as well as an update with the amount of bug fixes with the snapshots and constant feedback with those.
The way I see it, at least as far as Mojang's speed on updates anyways, they have two things to consider.
1: How will adding in new things affect the game in the long run, will everyone love it, will everyone hate it, is it even worth it.
2: They're spending more time on their side games than they are their primary one.
1 while likely true, holds no water when it comes to, say, the parity issues of Bedrock and Java, there is no excuse for the two versions being so different, Bedrock can do a whole ton of things by default that Java can't, Java can do some things by default that bedrock can't. There was no reason for these two to be different, and yet they are, and yes sure you could make the argument that Java can just use mods that can make Java do allot of the things Bedrock has, but despite Bedrockify (that I can't find anymore) these are things we should have in the base game already since they already are in Bedrock, not to mention the need for optimization in Java…I get they run on two different engines but that's hardly an excuse after being bought by Microsoft.
2 is overflowing, not to #$!^ on Dungeons, and now the bootleg looking thing that is Legends with its rounded corners…Hopefully it's better than it looks…But they put so much more effort in to these games than they have actual Minecraft, so many new items, enemies, other things, animations even, we need mods for these, nothing special from either of these two are in the base game, it's like there was more thought put in to this than Minecraft itself and it's embarrassing, imagine you've just heard of Minecraft and you come across Dungeons, play through it, and think to yourself "I wonder how this would feel as a first person game" which c'mon, it's 2022, pretty sure everyone thinks this by now, and then they come across Minecraft, which…Looks a mess and sad in comparison, especially if you're a console player, you don't even get access to shaders.
I'm not angry, just disappointed. There's so much potential for Minecraft, without the mods, and frankly it's being wasted. 3D mushrooms could be a thing, in built shaders could be a thing (I don't count RTX), things that are usually just jpegs could finally be a 3D object, food could finally have animations while eating, but to get even those, you need mods, and it's disappointing that such simple things that have already been done aren't, and haven't been added after all these years. And even if they did add them eventually, they could add a switch, or something in the settings that lets us go back to the way things were if we really wanted to, like the texture pack we were given to go back to the old, while in the new.
We Do Not Recommend Removing "Chat Report", Because Of Microsoft's Chat Policy That Should Moderating This Chats (Just Like Dota And Any Games)
Aren’t robots*
My God, everyone just be patient Mojang, their human beings just like us they need to make stuff and also with that it takes time and patience. Mojang are robots.
I am angry with Mojang not repenting and reverting 1.19.1. I think 1.20 is great, but without reverting 1.19.1, any changes are moot. I feel similar to how many people felt following 1.9.
I wish Mojang would finally add missing features from the legacy console editions
oh wonderful more of these people getting angry at everything your not gonna get everything you want in this game
I wish this community stopped using version numbers to talk about major updates.
I can't stress this enough, that is not a portal it's a statue of the warden
Im not upset..im not wowed. But not upset…i regularly get mods ingame..more content to play with..whatever mojang add thereafter is bonus for me
Actually I am one of the people that desperately defend Mojang I don’t wanna hear people in public one day saying… “ did you hear the news about Mojang going bankrupt lol Fortnite and Roblox are better 😂😂😂😂” Honestly I never want to hear that
Personally, I think splitting all the editions into their own separate versions of the game, ignoring parity and instead making each into the best they can be. I know it is unlikely to ever happen, but so much is being held back by the limitations of hardware few care about.
People that are hating this new update is dumb! They are not real minecrafters…
I think part of the reason so many people are hard on Mojang is that they have historically made some terrible decisions and refuse to apologize or fix them. I.E. phantoms, glow squids, player chat reporting, 1.9 combat, fireflies, and many more smaller things.
Another reason is that Minecraft is old. Old enough that people have grown up as kids with this game and could be sharing it with kids of their very own. Paired with the gargantuan scale of the player base, anything added that seems to differ from what they feel was and should be Minecraft becomes an atrocity.
I'm not upset nor defending anyone.
I'm just mindlessly watching the chaos, want popcorn?
Next live Minecraft should make a Big update that takes two years to finish so everyone is happy because it's a good update that will take a long time to finish with a date of month or year
I'm mad there isn't gonna be like more then a handful of things. We need big things not new boats
The biggest problem with Mojang is that they are and always were lazy. Do not jump into conlcusion before letting me done explaining:
Mojang has always been a little bit lazy and always wanted to add only one mob per year, through Mob Votes. But most of the Mob Votes makes the players really upsed and this is a huge downfall.
A better way of handling the situation is if Minecraft only released the mob they wanted for the year and the other two option to be made the next two following years, not only promises. Because you see, coding a mob is not easy if you have already figured out his appearance and his behavior towards other mobs and the player.
Let me demonstrate this statements with some examples:
The Tuff Golem is a passive mob who does need just a little bit of coding to do some simple and basic stuff, like standing still while he is alone or other entities are around and moving only when a player gets close enough to him, for example a radius of only eight blocks or less.
The Rascal is a passive mob who likes to play hide and seek who will drop an item when a player can spot and find him three times. The only thing they have to worry about is the block radius the Rascal can be detected as "spotted" and how many block needs the player to be near to be counted as "found".
