Bridge Fishing in The Florida Keys – Final day in The Florida Keys | The Fish Locker

Fishing from one of the many road bridges in the Florida Keys we catch multiple tropical species. Under very challenging conditions I land some stunning fish. Witness loads of wonderful sea creatures and explain what I am doing and why, the rigs I am using and share any lessons learned from this session. I hope it helps. I was also inspected by a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer. Who checked by license and ensured I was fishing legally. Great to see and a very positive interaction.

Here are links to some of the fishing tackle I used in this video. I hope it helps.

Brilliant video John. Loved the turtle but felt sorry for him with all the barnacles on his back. Loved the different colours of all your catches today. Wonderful mate. I smiled when you saw the rain coming! It’s caught me out a time or two. I’m off to Canada in three days time, my rods are already packed!! Take care and enjoy the rest of your stay. Graham👍👍☔️🐠🐠🐟🎣🎣🎣🎣☀️☀️

I would suggest free lining one of your rods with a live bait going out with the tide of course

We get checked for a license once and a while up here in PA. I do know a place or two down in VA where a salt water or non resident license isn't required but they do require you joining their data base and reporting your catch. I can't tell you here in the comments because, well…

"That turtle took me by surprise". Must have been a ninja, John…

2days after and I'm chomping waiting for hopefully tomorrow's video! Haha. Hope you're still in the states enjoying holiday and each other. If not.. I'll be waiting for the next UK foraging/fishing video…

Oh well at least some good footage of the turtle. Good to see the friendly warden, can only enhance and protect the sport.

Sorry John but anybody in the world can catch fist in florida. On my first trip to Florida our cruise ship saled down to Key West and I found a tackle shop, bought some line and some hooks and blagged a bread roll from Sloppy Joes bar. I hooked, just on the pier were our cruise was tied up, massive barracudas, massive angel fish, massive parrot fish and many more. Obviousely they all snapped the hook off but I also caught lots of small fish and fed them to a pelican that was sat beside me the whole time.has was a big one. I'll tell you about my second visit to Florida, fish fresh water next time. But for the record if you like fishing and can AFFORD to get to Florida, you really can catch anything anytime in salt water or fresh. It really is no biggy, it is that simple.

did you bring your superb rod rest chair back

When I fish the bridges on the FL panhandle, I like to free line live bait. Sometimes weights seem to throw some of the predators off (though not all of them). Your passion is infectious. I absolutely love the videos.

Bloody rossers! At least he was friendly

What no sail cats?

Luis Gonzalez

Great video

Some of the lads I fish with in the uk would have pushed the bailiff in rather than buy a licence 😂

tony locke

Enjoyed the video…as usual…and, just like you, it is often the unexpected wildlife that makes the session rather than what I catch. I live in Georgia and, the fishing on the coast is so much fun…you never know what you will catch, or see. I have had alligators swim past, which is quite scary when you are standing up to your thighs in the surf!

Ryan Ferris

I for 1 am happy to see the drop net!! Pity it wasn’t put into use 🤣 great video 👍

Henry Loveridge

Thanks mate it's been fun watching all videos 🥰

Leon Mark Rodziewicz

Sorry you didn't get your Grouper but if nothing else it gives you an excuse for another visit! Also, re the licenses, I've had mine checked twice already this year!

Tadhg Hayden

You should have picked that wardens brains ..for Goliaths n stuff….That net will come in handy fishing UK harbours maybe rock marks.. for mullet n Wrasse n Bass etc…on light lines espically mullet….turtle hanging around like that is good omen…I reckon…

It's great to see you're loving every bit of your trip to Florida. Try Key West next time; I see there's been some beauties caught from shore and there's no shortage of charters. It was nice to see that bailiff being civil too. Here and Britain have been seeing some truly gorgeous weather while you were away.
