Looking forward to seeing what Diff does with the Hudson Parts.
Can you use rivnut or just weld a nut to the fire wall for the hood support bolts? I would try to solder that rad pinhole or use a pop rivet.👍🏴
you ever heard of J.B. weld products very popular here in the USA it bonds and fixes radiator leaks like that over all good custom build on the truck
Yo Diff started up one time and sounds lekka. Tough luck on the radiator leak but you will sort it out hey. Take care and thanks for sharing your video my brother 🔩
This style Chevy truck body ran between the years 1947 to 1955, they changed models in 47 this shape began in late 47 and the 55salso changed, this style stopped in early 55..the 47s and 48s were identical the 50s had small numbers below the Chevrolet nameplate on the side of the hood for the pickup the numbers were 3100, the 51s dropped the small numbers but added vent windows in the doors, the 52s added push button door handles rather than the pull downs, the 53s took the Chevrolet nameplate from the sides of the hood and added 3100 in bolder numbers, the 54s changed to a one piece windshield, the new T shaped grill and the side rails of the bed that were on 45 degree angle they just flattened. The 55s changed the side hood nameplate from the bold 3100 to a plastic emblem with 3100 written in a small oval with chevrolet written underneath it..these didn't hold up well and youdon't see them much today.. the early 55s also had an open driveshaft.. These are the changes in the chevrolet trucks from the late 47 models to the early 55s.. thought you may want to know..I was a teenager then and I lived and breathed these trucks..My dad bought a new 52 model for $1640 US..Paul from Ohio..
Do you have JBweld over there? It's a two part epoxy putty. I would have pushed some on the hole and fire it up.
Voorspoed .
Just weld up that pin hole
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A great American truck on a Nissan drive frame? Creepy.
Re the riv nut tooling..
Dont need it for a 1 off job.
For insertion just use a long bolt with nut and washer up the shaft of the bolt, fit bolt into nutcert, insert in hole and by holding the bolt and tightening the nut it will compress the nutcert.
Your welcome.
That engine is fresh , it just needs a set a twin 40s or 45s webers … she'll spin the tyres for sure
Almost there mate. Good work. An idea for you, weld the nuts on the inside of the firewall for the bonnet brace. That way you only need one pair of hands when the glass goes in. I reckon front indicators to match the rear would look good too.
I have watched this build from the start, you've come so far with it mate. The way the new part of the bonnet has patina'd into the same look as the old section is awesome. Well done.
Or Forchevniss 😅
Sounds cool man love it. It needs a name now. Chevnissfor. 😀😀😀
Enjoyed the video and glad to see it started right up. Hope you find a good radiator. Can’t wait to see your first drive in the truck. Sounds great. Thanks for sharing.
Nice touches dressing up the engine bay, can't wait for the test drive.
No idea what the bowls are for though.
A ten dollar bottle of rad seal would have sealed that right up and lasts about 5 years with no more leaks. Highly recommended and it will seal holes in the rad even larger than yours. Amazing stuff.
Nice 🕷️ , love the build, also loved your drive to town video
it's good to just run water first start saves on coolant lol
I’ve had something like that, on most of my jobs. Poor boys have to learn everything the hardest possible way, I guess. But it makes for learning things, others with money never will know! Enjoyed the video. God Bless you man and your Family.
It’s bleeding
Not worth trying an aluminum brazing rod, or maybe even ac tig ? Bubblegum ?
Love the way it sounds , Build On
Or make a sheath for it on the side of the tank …
Better luck on the next radiator!
Just stripped the radiator out to put in my 50 dodge rat rod i hope I didn't damage mine
She sounds snappy
I hope you can find another donut truck so you don't have to make different amounts for a different radiator theater I'm just joking I think it's coming along great thanks for the video
Thank you for sharing. some of us love to work on crap but don't have the place or time to do it. its fun to watch especially with you using basic tools and supplies making projects seem closer to reach
Decent. One small setback, but you coulda had r out for a drive! Hey can you weld that nasty windshield nut to the inside of the firewall there? Make it easy to remove.nut next time.
going to make headlight buckets out of the stainless steel bowls
