This was seriously one of the most INCREDIBLE lakes I’ve ever fished.
Renegade Fly Rods:
While searching through google earth one night I saw something that looked out of place. A singular lake that appeared so blue that it stood out in the mountains like a soar thumb. I quickly research the lake looking for any info on it, but there wasn’t much. There were a few photos of the lake showing off something so stunning that it almost appeared fake and one single mention of the possibility of brook trout. So, after some planning, we set out in search of the lake with the hopes of finding some trout.
This was one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever seen and the hike was unreal. When we first got to the lake we thought it didn’t have any fish in it… but then we got a glimmer of hope as Andrew caught a fish near the inlet to the lake. The fish was not a brook trout but rather a cutthroat trout of some sort. After fly fishing for some trout, we left the lake and hit some small creeks we had seen on the drive in that morning.
As we creek hopped we caught several really nice brook trout and found a few beaver ponds that were LOADED with fish. It was a day I won’t soon forget.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe! We’re only 1200 subs away from 50k!

cuthroat trout
Really amazing place and fish. It is incredible what mysteries the nature holds.
What’s the name of the lake?
All I can say is… wow. I've never seen a lake like that in my life! Looks like such an awesome adventure!
Loved the video man! Fishing for cutthroat lake trout is always a blast! I’m actually planing a simular trip for my Chanel as well. Ive always idolized your content, keep the videos rolling!

The first fish was a Cutthroat.

Incredible looking fish! Every one of them!

Okay explain to me how the fish got there????
WOW!!!!
Beautiful brookies 🤠
I’ve hiked a lot in that mountain range, and I agree that’s the bluest lake I’ve been to. It is aptly named. There used to be large cutties in it and the other lake not far from it. It’s a dandy hike to get there. Fortunately even though I’m in my 60s I’m used to the altitude. You guys did great. I enjoyed the video.
Great stuff, got skunked there a couple years ago, glad to see you found some.
The most common element that creates such blue water is calcium. It is pretty ubiquitous in CO. This particular color is enhanced by one or a couple other minerals that can really destroy a trout fishery if not together with other minerals, so they are not getting mentioned here. Depth also contributes. Look at Crater Lake Oregon. That water is nearly just H20, but the great depth produces the color. Thanks for posting. This place is gorgeous, as are the fish!
Name of the lake please?
Nice video. 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16. In other words He died for you when you didn’t deserve it. God bless
Unbelievable beautiful. Very nicely done. Amazing fish and even more amazing scenery. Thank you.
Last month I got to fish Cabresto Lake near Taos, New Mexico. That lake was full of brook trout that looked like the ones in this video. The prettiest fish I’ve ever seen in my life. Can’t wait to get up to Colorado!!
My,my,my….speechless!
Great video, solid fishing!
WHOA!🤯 Yeah, that lake looks just like lake Tahoe. Just BREATHTAKINGLY clear. As for the fish? They look like sumthin i was blessed with catchin some years ago and it was called at the time a Golden Trout. They were rumored to ONLY be found in higher elevations….but I digress, Great vid as always boyz🙂👍 and plz keep em comin. Peace ✌😎
All the times I hiked up high and to never see a lake like that beautiful blue one. I'm curious about the cutthroat, but that beautiful lake, absolutely a Rocky Mountain High. This one just could be my favorite one y'all done. And yes I've fallen to those headaches that aspirin seemed to bounce right off. ………………,but that lake. Thank you! Snow will be flying there soon.
Nice sharing master, keep sharing I enjoy your video, God Bless ❤
What is your camera setup
I enjoyed this video a lot! That remote high beautifully blue lake…awesome. But even more beautiful were those decent sized brookies at times 9:40 and 11:20… oh my gosh…look those dark vivid colours! And the bite of the first one in that clear water …and the stunning surroundings…wow…what a marvellous fishing trip the two of you had…exploring new places and studying the variations between cutthroats and rainbows that occur up there in that fishing paradise. A bliss of a video.
Love your videos. Curious of what model GO Pro you use and software you edit with
Damn those brook trout look good love when there dark green with the bright orange belly.
The fish were the icing on an exquisite cake. Thank you.
That first fish looks like a cutthroat to me…
That was cutbow for the first fish… they look very similar to a redband rainbow on the west coast….
What beautiful brookies?
It is a beautiful lake …. But obviously you don’t hike the high country in Colorado much . Try going above Durango , Silverton , Steamboat Springs and Leadville just name a few . Not only breathtaking views , but unexpectedly huge fish .
Did I miss where you mentioned the location land name of the lake !
That 1st fish was a curry hybrid . Which you occasionally in the high count .
