I can still remember the excitement building as the opening titles rolled like it was yesterday. I can't understand why UFO isn't shown today. Is it because characters smoked and drank alcohol? Does make me wonder why the UK is so utterly shit nowadays though…
Ah, the great memories of a fun show! Interesting the use of an IBM Selectric typewriter to impart information. You can tell this show was made before the personal computer revolution of the mid to late '70s, as thereafter such titles would come up on a computer monitor!
Even to this day, that opening Century 21 Production sequence gives me goosebumps. Used to love watching this on WOR Channel 9 out of New York, sometimes with clumps of hair (or something) getting into the frame somehow. The DVDs are amazingly crisp, though; might even be a better transfer than the Space: 1999 DVDs.
Never understood why the aliens never knocked out SID. After that they could have done whatever they wanted. Probably for the same reason 'Mr Big' doesn't kill James Bond as soon as he shows up.
Why can't we have a up dated version with new actor's the series was fantastic

1980!
trivia: in space 1999 moonbase alpha was an upgraded version of the base featured in UFO – technically in the same movie universe
UFOs are coming…

I love cheesy sci-fi
Shaggy-luscious! Love that groove-a-delic musical theme, straight out of Austin Powers! I used to watch this when I was a kid.
I reckon the onesies were failed prototypes for those worn by Sporticus and Robbie Rotten in Lazy Town.

50 years later and what have we really got? Little pocket devices to watch funny cat films on and judge our friends.

My ringtone March 2021…
Epic tones, I just love hearing my phone ring 😂 🤣😂 🤣😂 🤣
Is no one going to talk about that IBM selectric beautiful typeface passing as teletype?!

When TV shows were actually good.
This was a great series! With some of the sexiest women! My adolescent years were made a lot better!
I had NO idea what I was going to see with this blast from the past but those fishnet body suits are rockin’ my world!
Elon Musk could have saved a fortune on space suits if he’d have seen this. String vests… who knew? 🧑🚀
Space Intruder Detector………..Sid…………he should have stuck to that instead on compelling the gullible half baked English to buy gas shares…….
