I’ve recently started fishing again after a 40+ years break
What is it with mainlines being 20lb + in breaking strain ?
Is it just to get the lead out there ? Or because of the unbelievable average weight of todays modern carp ?
Thinking of using the 30lb illusion as a leader of around 4ft any tips on straightening it out ?
Great video by the legend himself we all get in the trap of overcomplicating things like rigs etc… but the simplicity of things are sometimes the hardest things to achieve

As usual Chilly is spot on, it is all about confidence. Whatever rig or bait you choose, if you are confident in it and it works for you then that is all that really matters.
