How do you find these basins? Are they in the main lake or off the maine lake in river arms in coves? Also are basins a big bowl out in the middle?
It’s easy with Livescope. Scope the fish and hook ‘em in the mouth. Takes the challenge out of the sport but you don’t care about being sportsmanlike.

Hey Ben I was a great video love seeing some big old slaespecially on the live scope that's pretty awesome but I have a question I really don't pretend this video wanted to ask if you've ever seen the dominion lure swim bait/Glide bait/whatever I got my brother,dad and myself lol a pac of these look great can't wait to try them ,just wondering what you thought about them ? But I'm wondering How long these little fins will last ?but does feel like a good strong rubber
Creel limits will have to be changed with the advent of FFS. It's no trouble to flat out wipe out schools with the scope.
Those little swimbaits will catch just about anything. I actually caught a 5lb German carp on one the other day. I always thought carp were bottom feeders, and not predators, but this one actually ate my lure. First time I've ever caught one on a lure. Thought I had a big Ole bass at first, until I actually seen what it was 😆
Aint been up there this winter yet, should get better with this cold snap as far as school sizes go.

We were fishing a similar pattern up in Minnesota this fall. Huge 13-16" crappies and dinner plate sized bluegills mixed on a deep weed edge that dropped from 15' down to 35' of water in the space of 20 yards like a long wall. In the mornings and evenings they'd push up suspended against the edge and ball up schools of baitfish. We were using ice tungsten jigs tipped with pieces of Kalin Weenie worms, "ned" worms,, etc. My wife raided the bargain bin at the chain sporting goods store in our area and used just about every odd color under the rainbow and they bit- the trick was using braided line and the tungsten jigs to pick up on the sensitive bite. They hit it like a baby crappie, and a lot of times as the jig was on the drop. Fun trip, can't wait til' we go again next year🙂
