Beautiful spot. I'd definitely be dropping a few 5in gills around there looking for a big Channel Cat or a Flathead.
Excellence AND adventure!
Its such a great bait. My go to when nothing else works.
Man those are some nice smallmouth. We don't have them here in lower Alabama but we've got plenty of largemouth. I really don't bass fish much but there's you n one other guy I watch that use those hellgrammite lures and I was jw how do you work those lures. just a slow but steady retrieve?
Couldn't watch with sound, but if you don't mind my asking, when was this video taken? What time of year?
I love a good culvert fishing spot! I had one off the mississipi up north in MN. Caught 8 species one day!
Nice tanks. Greetings from the Susquehanna.
Nice, yeah plastic bugs are quite effective, bugs are not just for fly fisherman, I’ve done well on smaller ones for trout…
You need a polarizer for your gopro, so we can see what you're seeing under the water!
Greetings from Romania !!!
The reason fish chase other fish when hooked is because they are waiting for the other fish to spit it up so they can eat it. If u gave slack and purposefully lost the smaller fish maybe one of the bigger ones would have smacked it. Not always that easy. But i know from saltwater blitzes that often when a fish falls off a lure another fish will scoop it up cause they follow each other. I guess they assume the fish is choking or has it stuck and are waiting for it to spit up
What other species of fish do you have in your rivers and lakes
This must be a old video if not I'd like to no where there's no snow or ice in nd.
Hi Matt, would like to know what brand/model kayak you use. Thinking of getting one, however we don't really have much variety to choose from in South Africa. Btw..your videos are awesome, we don't really have smallmouth in SA, so its great to watch. Keep up the great content. Regards Martin.
That was nice. Thanks for sharing this with us.
The "Bob Ross" of fishing. Its like we're right there with you enjoying the same peace
As good as it gets! Great stuff, as usual. Thanks!!!
I wonder why dosent Matt use a bfs setup for his light lures, u can bomb further cast(imo). But then again, most bfs setups will be hard pressed to compare to a revo mgx n Saint croix rod.
All these subscribers and you do it without stupid commercials like on T.V. and without constant obnoxious music ! Your the best !
We're going to have to see that cellphone retrieval footage… 🤣 J/k
Matt do you eat any of the fish you catch?
That’s a great day of fishing thanks for sharing.
Anything 12 inch and over is a good catch.
Ounce for ounce, pound for pound, there is arguably no better fighting fish than smallmouth bass — especially on light tackle. Thanks Matt for taking us along on another entertaining video!
Nikko Hellgrammites are beyond compare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great vid!!!!!!!!!!!
