I head out of Key Largo on my jon boat to do some late afternoon fishing in the mangroves. I am fishing for snapper. But I’ll take any fish that bites. Tarpon, snook, shark, barracuda or stingray I’ll take them all!
I head out in hopes of filming a catch and cook. I love to eat me some fresh key largo fish. Let’s go fishing in the Florida keys!

I found some interesting things on the refugee boat washed up in Key Largo. This is actually the second refugee boat I found in the florida keys in the past week. It seems like someone took the motor off the boat, or maybe they threw it over deck when they got close to land.
I promise the next fishing video on the jon boat will be a catch and cook here on the South Florida Fishing Channel.

Those old evenrudes run beauty. I bought a 1990 9.9 off a fella. Mint. It pushes my 12ft perfect. First pull everytime and trolls nice and smooth.

Hey, for the "No See ums", buy you a tube of Johnson & Johnson creamy baby oil lotion. Its a light green tube. Won't have anymore issue's with any pesky critter. Walmart also sells it in their brand.
Just choke up on the net so it’s shorter everything else with your throw is great fish on!

Squid works great under the mangroves. Also have had luck using shrimp/squid flavored fishbites.

I tried to prep an atlantic stingray for cooking but after cutting it up it smelled like glue so I pitched it and never tried again.
Another good video. My wife daughter and I are coming down in June, rented a house on the water at grassy key north of marathon. I hope to catch some mangrove snapper while there and maybe a few Bert’s too….

Hey brother, was in islamorada last month and we consistently were hooking up with 6-7ft bulls and a couple times some 10 foot hammerheads were coming in to eat them. As far as boat (inside not navigation) worldwide sportsman has the LED strip lights pretty cheap. Run on AA.
Need live shrimp and a bobber to get those Mangroves.

Been watching for years. When I saw the net I was excited cuz you usually throw some hilarious tacos but these were Great throws! 😁 Took me awhile to throw some good pancakes too! I use a net with smaller holes for Pilchards. I figured that out later too. Love your videos man! They're just different than others. These Jon boat videos have been great!👍

If you gonna use your john boat for fishing shrimp, you are gonna need a "shrimp" net.
I sooooo miss my family's home (my father's parents) in coastal waters of NC. 1 of my favorite memory's is going out 3AM (i hated waking up at 2am – i was 12yo then), going out in my grandfather's jon-boat. THAT summer (early 70's) we pulled in 80 lbs, 90% of the shrimps were the "extra large" size!
Would love to see "home-made" shrimping again.
Thumbs up, ive had a lot of fun in my jonboat, also have you ever tried , soft plastic shrimp imitation baits, i used squid jigs in the bays in mississippi, aka panfish jig, crappie patterns worked

Just a thought on your Evinrude outboard. Either thru bolt it to the hull, or put a safety chain on it in case it decides to jump off the transom.
I really enjoy watching your show man no matter if you catch fish or not I still enjoy watching it it is a learning experience whenever you're fishing in shallow water that's most definitely I love fishing and shallowater when you can able to see fish if you don't see the fish you ain't going to catch no fish have a blessed day too brother be safe 🙏

When you ran aground it reminded me of running my 16' up on some oysters in Cedar Key. Spent the rest of the day getting my ass vibrated off from the bent prop and bailing water with a bowl from where oysters cut the hull. – I wouldn't cross the Indian River in that refugee boat, much less ride it to Cuba. Crazy. Also I'm Hungarian and had just about every meat in Gulyas, but never shark, I'd love to see what you think before I make it and it sucks lol
