  • If you require meter beyond May 1st to submit the StarRez housing reservation, we can grant that upon request. Email us at entrance fee @ csum.edu or call 707-654-1330.
  • For all the other items listed with a May 1st deadline such as the health forms and undifferentiated measurements, we have changed the May 1st deadline on these other items to “send it to us when you can over the summer.”  You do not need to particularly request these deadline extensions .
  • Passing a pass/fail spring 2020 semester course will count as satisfying a needed A-G class ( high school students ) or required college run ( transfer students ). Academic preparation and CSU Early Start for students admitted from high school

The CSU requires first-time freshmen to demonstrate readiness for GE English and mathematics through multiple measures : Test scores, high school/math GPA, and college preparatory coursework .
Most students will enroll immediately into GE coursework. Students with applicable AP, CLEP, or IB examination scores and/or college credit may advance to the following horizontal surface courses required by their majors .
Some students may require extra development in English and/or mathematics, and may however enroll in GE courses with embed supportive education. For English, enroll in the full-year EGL 101-102 “ stretch ” course ; for mathematics, enroll in MTH 100 and its non-credit MTH 99L lab .

You may have “ to do ” items from the Financial Aid Office that need to be done before they can complete your fiscal help put up. Final Transcript Deadline: July 15, 2020 if Possible

Cal Maritime requests that high schools that can provide transcripts by July 15, 2020, do so ; however, we will continue to accept transcripts through the fall 2020 term. Cal Maritime will not rescind conditional offers of admission based on the non-receipt of transcripts. Advanced Placement (AP) Scores and Assigning Credit

AP scores should arrive in the Admissions Office by approximately July 10, 2020

Mandatory Health Insurance Requirement

It is the policy of Cal Maritime to require all enroll students to maintain Cal Maritime student health indemnity or comparable private insurance. This is due to the extra nature of the educational feel at the Academy, which includes an international train cruise or external study experience .
If you are currently not insured: You will be mechanically enrolled in the Cal Maritime insurance plan that meets all school requirements .
If you are currently insured and wish to maintain your current insurance, you must: Request a release from purchasing Cal Maritime ‘s insurance plan by completing the on-line Student Health Services insurance release. The deadline to complete the on-line release from mandatary school health insurance will be in early July. Please note, it is the duty of the student to inform Cal Maritime when coverage changes after any waiver has been granted .

Orientation Program & Academic Calendar Dates

  • Mandatory Student Orientation: Virtual ( Online ) Orientation – August 4-7, 2020.
  • Mandatory Campus Housing Move-in: Date ( randomness ) will be announced July 24, 2020.
  • Optional Parent/Guardian Orientation : Recorded presentations available August 4. live on-line seance August 4-7 ( diverse times ).
  • Classes Begin: Dates being finalized – Staggered start dates based on In-Person v Online. Generally, the week of August 17.

Mandatory Swim Assessment

swim assessments are required of all cadets during Orientation Week. Keep in mind the swim appraisal should be considered a “ challenge examination ” that fulfills the prerequisite prerequisite for many of the classes offered at the Academy. Access to Campus E-mail and Computing Systems

Housing information for New Students

How and when will I receive my housing assignment?
first, make sure you have filled out and sent in your Housing license Agreement through the on-line “ StarRez ” Housing License Agreement which was part of your New Student Guide. Those who wish to apply for permission to live off-campus should fill out the Off-Campus Housing Petition rather than the end of the Housing License Agreement .

New Student Common Reading Program

Required summer reading for all new Cal Maritime students
The Cal Maritime faculty launched a “ New Student Common Reading Program ” in 2011. All incoming students are required to read the like book prior to arriving on campus. The book will then be incorporated into New Student Orientation and integrated into your freshman experience .
The book for Summer 2019 was Field Notes from a catastrophe by Elizabeth Kolbert. The reserve for 2020 has not been selected so far. The objectives of the program are :
