Synopsis: Emmy-winning executive producer and writer Dick Wolf (NBC’s”Law & Order”) brings this hard-hitting and emotional one-hour police drama to NBC’s quality drama lineup. This companion series to the critically acclaimed ”Law & Order” follows detectives Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni, ”Oz,” ”NYPD Blue”) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay, ”ER”) of New York City’s elite Special Victims Unit. Working for Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek, ”Law & Order”), the unit is charged with investigating cases considered particularly especially heinous. Their dogged pursuits are paired with auniquespecial level of concern and sympathy for the victims. Each episode features new crimes puzzles to solve, and new victims to avenge and as well as new emotional personal struggles for the detectives handling this emotionally draining taxing job.
