Does anyone know where the origin point is for world generation? I created 1024 pixel maps of the 4 square meters surrounding -64 ~ -64 and allowing for the difference in scale, they did not correlate as the pics on the wiki page did. What I'm looking to do is calculate where to find a specific biome area on a large biome world with the same seed.
These Biomes get really large… I'm not very happy with it. I've build a lot of stuff and look for wolves now. Maybe it's just bad luck, but in my world there isn't much variation of biomes. Desert, savanna, desert, savanna, ocean, desert… a sh*tload of towns though. Travelling for hours…
I dislike how the maps changed to be smaller, and now with large biomes, you can never see anything. Does anyone know how to get an original, large sized map?
the large biomes are still insufficient for mega construction a city wall contains at least 10 biomes it would be nice to be able to set biome scale or remove unwanted biomes from generation
I agree, somewhat, I think it would make waay more sense if the biomes generated in a more natural manner, IE: Deserts and snowy places can actually be pretty close to one another on our own planet, but separated by mountains, in minecraft theres no limitation on it, you can end up with Desert next to Taiga both of which are next to a Jungle, which is by a plains biome.. Its not the size that bothers us, its the unnatural mishmashing
If you think that a small desert next to a small taiga next to a bit of swamp, then play your game with large biomes. Some people, however, don't like having to walk through endless stretches of the biome they're in.
I think this is how the game should have been all along. I don't really see the point of a small desert next to a small taiga next to a little bit of swamp. It just looks weird. Large biomes really feel like how a world should be.
I agree, when notch (I think he was still working on the game when they did this change) increased the building height some people found it useful for big creations, but I rarely build that high , they should use that space left or something

Nostalgia…

Coming From The Future! 😛
Would've been cool if there are large villages, dungeons, mineshafts, cave systems, etc. It'll give us the feeling of being small.

Large Biome worlds: The only way of playing minecraft for me!
What the heck is that structure at 0:21?
Nice, but you should have explained that villages are easier to find here…

Considering that they're all just over a minute, you'd be watching a lot of videos.

Is there a greater chance for a village to spawn in Large Biomes than in Normal Biomes?
I bet the oceans are CRAZY huge. O.o

it looks weird but its annoying when your trying to find a village or something but your stuck in an infinite Taiga
No the already-massive map is still the same size, just the biomes are much bigger.
So not only are Large Biomes filled with bigger biomes but the world map is also larger?
