I use to fish both of those canals when they had water. I could go on both sides with my 20ft bass boat. Now it is pretty much done unless it’s dredged. Sucks to lose good spots but they were man made to begin with so I’m glad I enjoyed them for the years they were good.

Just started watching a couple of days ago. I'm a BASS(Largemouth)/Crappie fisherman but have lived up north (Ft. Madison, Ia.) along the Mississippi, for 3 yrs. Caught A LOT of Channel Cat. (Not nearly as big as you have. I'm a retired Railroad Conductor 36yrs. I'm 73, but really enjoy your informative Video's along with Catch and Cook. I really enjoy watching. Keep them coming.!

It's a popular trend 📈 going on. These low water content videos. Dam the water up stream. Don't release and see the drought down river 👍 ayee

Bob Brennecke

I believe that first fish you caught was a grass carp.

You need a machete!

My vote is grass carp – the Asian species don't have scales that well defined.

Official history tells us that these forts around the world were built with millions of bricks in times when the populations were very low and mass production of bricks was in its infancy. They were pre-Flood and later repurposed by the world oligarchs. Anyway, thanks for posting this stuff. I originally subscribed for the awesome fishing content, but it's also interesting to see areas like this off the beaten path.
