Jesus how liberal the news is. It in fact does remove your right to purchase a gun. It requires training that does not exist yet and will not for at least a year. And on top of that you have to have a gun to fire at a range in said gun course to legally purchase a weapon. Its unconstitutional to require permission to exercise a right. "High Capacity" = standard capacity from the manufacturer. The 10 round limit is arbitrary, and only serves as a "gotcha" for stacking the charges when the State decides it wants to extort you for exercising your rights.
this Bill 114 is getting closer to reality, or common understanding of the effect, revealing what is really means for buyers, owners FFL sellers. Sales and transactions are expected to stop on Dec 8th 2022, baclkog for the Oreg Background Ck, like NICS, was 24000, changing daily. This will have to be sorted out starting in Jan 2023. Prices and confusion is going to be a burden.
KGQ you obviously didn't read all 14 pages of this bill. You must get training before you can buy a gun and that training must be with the gun you intend to buy. How can you buy without the permit? This bill will not stand in court and there is already a challenge on the magazine ban.

This reporter is so ignorant its amazing. YES it WILL prevent people from owning guns. First of all, its absolutely unconstitutional to require citizens be granted permission from their government to exercise their rights. Secondly, gun owners aren’t going to want to be on a government gun registry, so they just won’t buy. Finally, there are provisions in the law that make OSP able to deny purchase permits for ANY reason. Not to mention all the costs and red tape you will now have to go through—even if you can, to get a purchase permit. This law will put gun stores out of business and make citizens LESS safe! Well done Oregon, well done.
