One wonders why 11Alive chose not to seek comment from the Mayor of Rutledge, well 11Alive? The amount of NIMBY demonstrated here was entirerly unshocking.

Should’ve bought abandoned vehicle manufacturing plants like GM. In Ga or Detroit. Next it will be Amazon warehouses coming to town.

Also creating 7500 jobs is not the same as hiring 7500 people bec multiple ppl can have the same role or job title

Those unhappy residents should talk to their Governor and First Lady bec they brokered the deal and probably exempted Rivian from paying property taxes

Translation they don't want diversity or new people moving into the area! They want it to stay the same Ole tRUMP loving trash! It's coming and you can't stop it! White people continue to hide behind the same old narrative. It's going to affect our community!

Sounds like business as usual in America.

yes all these things need to be taken into account but the job opportunity the wealth to the local community and other local mom-and-pop businesses can open up. you don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, all these issues can be resolved and addressed hopefully they are having town hall meetings so these issues can be addressed and heard.
hopefully these tight regulations on pollution and the environment I'm sure there put in place by the state and the government regulations, it is all scaremongering by the fossil fuel industry
