I recall catching squid by hand when they came in with the surf. Caught several that day and there were a number of folks watching going "OHH" and "AHH" when I caught them. To my amusement, I let one go on the beach near their feet and laughed as they all yelled! Special day!
I believe the “squids fishing” is just a ploy to get visitors for the restaurant. I normally see small boats out to catch squids at night. This activity is popular in Hua Hin, Thailand. Squids are attracted by light, so it should be done at night.
However, the atmosphere seems nice and at night the view from the restaurant looking back at the mainland is beautiful. I’ll try to find out the name of the restaurant and try it.
fishing for your own meal is very rewarding itself. not to mention getting hungry and at the end of the day, the food they're gonna serve will be much more tasty!
All good seafood should be washed in vinegar to destroy the nasty fish smell, it's like a douche and then you can season your seafood meat for an enjoyable meal. 😉
