Street Running Train With 4 Locomotives, 2 Engines Shoving The Rear, Passes 2nd Train In The Yard, Minutes Later A Street Runner Train Goes The Other Direction! Street Running Trains In La Grange, Kentucky Empty The Yard! 1st train is a rare train. It had 2 locomotives pushing the end of the train going northbound. Most trains in LaGrange go south and not many have locomotives on the end. The first train passed another train waiting in the 4 track LaGrange railroad yard. The second train was waiting in the yard for the northbound to pass. It sat there for a few minutes after the first train passed and for a few minutes I was wondering if there was possibly another northbound train approaching. It turns out that there wasn’t and after a short time the second street runner train headed south toward Louisville, Kentucky from Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati, Ohio. This was a busy day in LaGrange on the Short Line. Normally there are only 8 trains every 24 hours but this day had 4 trains in the 5 hours that I was there. Usually I would hope for 1 or maybe 2 trains in a five hour period. The best frequencies for CSX in LaGrange is 161.370 for the road, 161.310 for dispatcher and 452.9365 for EOT. Yes, you can also get the front EOT on your scanner but the rear EOT is the best to use, at least in my experience.

You could have "tagged" that train while it was waiting on the siding or run along side it while it goes thru town and "tag" it! It might be hard to run, spray and photograph at the same time.

I love street running trains.
Those 2 trains appear to be M208 northbound and M209 southbound. They are to or from Walbridge Ohio. Earlier that day was M352 northbound to Chicago. Jaw Tooth if you saw it you saw a train which very rarely takes this route. It's a daily train but usually takes the LIRC

Two large Ford Truck plants in Louisville contribute to the autorack trains going north. They are planning to expand production so even more auto racks in the future. LOL.
