I often come here; to this video, because it makes me feel good. I by no means am trying to brag or show superiority over anyone. I am that tiny fraction. I don’t know why, and I often have consequences things arise because of it; I care for everyone around me, and take on their stress to the point of I’m encumbered by it. I come to this video because I’m reminded that I break the stereotype of breaking the rule. I feel unique and special. Reminds me I have a place in this world. What I do to the world to help is a choice I make. I just don’t know why I make that choice.
If all the law, and discernment of right & wrong/"The law of Nature" fell apart we would be no better than the wolves that scavenge and hunt (Sorry Darwin). But this "Law of Nature" sounds akin to The 10 Commandments of the Bible with the concept of Sinful Nature and Jesus Christ…
I learned vaguely about C.S. Lewis's arguments for Human Nature in my Ethics class (though in class it was referred to as Natural Law). In class it mentioned how different ancient societies had similar morality, even though there were still differences. We learned about it but I never actually read the source text, that is, until today. Absolutely incredible.
The binary text "01000101 01100011 00100000 00110001 00111010 00111001" at 7:25 translates to "Ec 1:9" what that means I don't know, maybe someone else does
this entire reality could be fabricated and honestly i couldnt care less. who cares if im delusional or if i end up being "right". fear is for the "weak", lets just see what happens in the future, or dont. who cares
I have many times thought about this kind of stuff. How paradoxical we are, how we will say we want something and then when we get it we say we didn't want it. I think much of this comes from the fact that we speak so matter of factly in things. It is good to have certainty and confidence, but I think that ends up leading to us saying very generalized statements that are untrue upon even mild investigation. Think of how easy it can be to go "all men do x" "all women do x", it's the terminology which sets one up to have to redefine it later.
the part where the narrator said we rarely give others what we expect from them- or something like that. I do very much the opposite. I constantly hate myself because I feel like I'm letting everyone down around me when people don't do half the things I do for them to me. I don't make excuses like "i was tired" or "something came up" instead I beat myself up and call myself lazy and irresponsible and apologize to others for being a horrible person. meanwhile if someone else doesn't fulfill a promise to me, i tell myself "it's because they don't care enough about you, if you were a better person they would've treated you better" so. i really don't relate to the assertion that we expect more from others than we're willing to give. if anything I'm the complete opposite. but also, im extremely miserable
7:23: the binary means Ec 1:9, which is a bible verse, the Ecclesiastes 1:9. In the NASB which apparently is the most accurate bible translation, it is "That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun."
Disrupt: think of a country where running away from battle is a good thing, doublecrossing your friends is applauded and 2+2=5. Me: well of course, Romania, Poland and any other corrupt government.
Whatever you wanna call it, decency and social behaviour is a universal truth and exhists amongst other species as well. It doesn`t HAVE to exhist because there is nothing in this universe to force any of us to abide by it and which is why there is antisocial behaviour in any society. However, the reason most do abide by a general sense of decency, as well as bind each other to a society, is because of the practicality it brings: it keeps most of us generally safe and is of mutual benefit. Of course, the devil is in the details: not every single situation will be mutually beneficial, bringing conflict and antisocial behaviour based on differening POV on the same behavioural contract without a macro perspective. Ultimately though, we can`t exhist as we are without the collaboration and appraisal of others as we cannot exhist in a bubble.
Love your videos! Very thoight provoking. I disagree with much of your reasoming in this video, but let me watch it again a few time and see if my initial reaction was just selfish excuses and perhaps I've missed the point or fail to understand your conception
I think this "rule" exists as an ancestral trait by when humanity was still in its infancy and when people bonded in groups and later in tribes to survive, the same way dogs and wolves bear fangs when aggravated. I do believe that the 'breaking' of this law is the more recent evolution in man, and i can only guess that this 'breaking of the law' came with the arrival of cognitive thinking. As cognitive thinking may override primal instincts in some way.
The law of human nature is the Principle of Non Agression (a corollary in fact). And the criteria of knowing what species have self-propriety over their bodies is the fact that an individual can communicate that it understands the concept of exclusive control of his body, or at least other individual from the same species can prove that its species can communicate, in case the first one has some deficiency that impairs communication. This is the Hans-Hermann Hoppe method. Although Hoppe is pro-abortion rights, his own method prohibits it, as adults already know what a human fetus is (a human), why it is alive (cellular multiplication) and that communicative capability is a standard on the human species.

Because we're born with a right & wrong conscious. Others try to manipulate that.
really interesting videos i appreciate when people like you make videos that open the eyes of regular humans trying to find out life
This guy is good.

Diogenes has entered the chat

I like that the background matches YT dark theme color

As morality increases freedom increases as morality decreases freedom decreases
This channel is better than the shit people pay for on TV.
this entire reality could be fabricated and honestly i couldnt care less. who cares if im delusional or if i end up being "right". fear is for the "weak", lets just see what happens in the future, or dont. who cares
If cable TV could produce content like this I would have never have cancelled my subscription lol
What a day I picked for watching this video and you saying this thing at 7:48.
There’s an element of 1984 while describing the morality part of civilisation

This proves morality is divinely driven.
me thinking and doing thought experiments has made me realize humans speak in a sorta robotic way and also not robotic

Your content is great but this video is stupid as hell
applause
7:22 this gave me a fucking heart attack because my phone has ghost touch
It is the knowledge of good and evil.

Great editing, great pace, etc etc. But uh… no, I disagree with the content nearly entirely and I somewhat envy you for believing it's that simple.
7:27 binary yields Ec 1:9
What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
The narrator's voice is satisfying…

To be human is to be a paradox of opposites; of which the pushing and pulling creates our individual and shared experience.
The law of human nature is the Principle of Non Agression (a corollary in fact).

The dude that went the chronicles of Narnia wrote this?
Disappointment is a direct function of your expectations
