12:17 = Cheilinus trilobatus – Tripletail Wrasse. Close cousin to the Maori Wrasse, but don't get anywhere near as big.

Thanks for posting the gear you use… I'm in Canada but travel to Costa Rica and Mexico to fish sometimes, I picked up a saltist hyper light Rock special , and a heavy as well….fantastic rods, super happy with them. What an AMAZING spot—especially because of the wide variety of species. It's a shame those tuna were so finicky, but the day was extraordinary anyway. There's just something special about fishing from the rocks as opposed to the boat. Best, Chris (Maine, USA)
