the finger can be pointed at management for not coordinating with the rail road and the rail road not working with the city / county or state which ever it comes under. failing to establish proper road escort for the truck driver moving that over size load.
Something isn't right. A truck full of concrete stalls infrastructure of a freight train ? With supply and demand being tested a RR strike just a month a go. Glad no1 is dead BUT THIS looks preplanned
My God. Where is the common sense? You're going to haul something that long over a railroad mainline and you don't call the railroad to find out where their trains are? Stupidity is bringing down this country in a hurry. This kind of crap is so easily preventable. It's an oversize load, it was permitted by the state down to the time and route. The railroad always knows exactly where it's trains are. Lots of eyes should have seen this coming.
Before you all start pointing fingers, notice the RR barrier came down on top of the trucks beam. And at 134' long, it is quite possible the driver can't even hear the crossing bells at that point.
Exactly why you just wait a few minutes and don’t race the train. If unsure if you can clear in time, just wait…your life, and the lives of others are worth the wait.
You would think oversize loads would make sure they can clear crossings. But everyone will blame the railroad for hitting the truck on their right of way!
The railroads are going to start having to do some self preservation here because obviously these trucks getting stuck or hit at crossings will never stop. There's gonna have to be some kind of system whether it's cameras or motion or weight switches or something that can alert dispatch or change signals immediately to stop the train or at least getting him slowing down to prevent or lessen this type of accident. I believe the Brightline passenger trains in Florida will have such a system and really all crossings on main lines should have it or this will continue. Imagine if this was a tanker truck with 9,000 gallons of gasoline. Something needs to be done now.
I-70 and I-75 around Dayton, Ohio, have numerous accidents. It’s a sure bet a semi is involved. Poor railroad workers; they have to deal with so much work-related strife.
What a crash! Glad everyone is ok for the most part. I was on my bicycle in Struthers Ohio, and a truck comming down a steep hill lost it brakes and plowed into a moving train. There was a little hole in the cab of the truck that this guy came out of. And the trains boxed cars fell over onto it's side and hit the ground with a loud boom. The whole ground shook.
C44-9W lead locomotive, SD70ACe in the 2 hole and a practically brand new Tier 4 GEVO riding 3rd, all wrecked. That's going to be an expensive insurance claim. The Dash 9 isn't too much of a loss but the other two are.
“The train always wins”. Truck— maybe so… just not today…
Was the traincrew asleep?
Oops. Glad everyone is ok
Boom lol

Why does the reporter sound like Alvin the chipmonk?

Someone's bridge is not going to get built anytime soon.
Hey Riley, thanks for dressing up for your on camera bit. Lookin sharp man.
Jeez!! Stupid fucking truckers!! Wtf is wrong with you stupid fucks?
Don't smoke crack 🎱😳

That trucking company is now bankrupt. Millions of dollars to fix all this. Typically a load like that gets a Police escort when off the interstate.

Somebody will pay big time here Bone Head Trucker.
Christ! What was the driver thinking! 😳

This driver carrying concrete and couldn't take care of his load.

I hope that nobody lights anything that includes fire because diesel fuel is expensive.
That is no concrete barrier. That is steel.
I feel bad for the train crew& the railroad.

A steering wheel holder strikes again.

Two things that do not lose!
1. Gravity.
2. Trains.
Hope the crews was ok, good thing they went in the SD70 Tralling behind the head locomotive it flipped over
Just WTF is wrong with people? I mean this nonsense with trucks in the tracks is all the time and just ridiculous.
Great video footage!!
YouTube…bretbart news has a excellent video of this. Better then I have seen. You do hear train horns blaring.

"A serious, serious derailment"..let me know when they are not serious.
That's not a derailment but an accident caused by a stupid trucker. Glad the train crew weren't killed.
Also, the train did not hit the semi "head-on". It hit the semi from the side (perpendicular).
Dumb ass driver. Hope the train crew will be ok and recover quickly. Look listen live.
