Let's not jump on the benevolent bandwagon. Nukes were powered up and set to launch on the Soviet Union and many have been killed and seriously injured over the decades. The word I would use would be indifferent. They didn't stop the allies from dropping Nukes on Japan.
I once told a work colleague as a youth l didn't believe in ghosts aliens etc but now as an old man I've been seeing such objects all my life. As you say, aliens, ETs must be top of the list of suspects. I believe the phenomena belong to the realm of ghosts so l don't think we'll be having any meaningful contact with them, but who knows? Those I've seen – some close up – appeared out of and disappeared into thin air. They are not subject to our laws of physics. Ghosts.

I have studied these from a physics perspective for 15 years. The most interesting thing myself, and a group I work with have discovered, is there is a "Event Horizon" around them. We need more funding to perfect instruments such as L.I.G.O. My biggest question is do wee have classified/black technology that can detect their gravitational waves? Folks at L.I.G.O say nothing there. The second most interesting thing is this event horizon "flashes" in the measurable range, smallest being 2ms, largest 12 milliseconds. Staying in the air the whole time, indicating multiple propulsions systems. I would guess magnetic, and electromagnetic, the former, being the force we least understand. If we can manipulate the constants in the other forces, than there is likely a way to manipulate the gravitational constants. But far, far ahead of unclassified (and likely classified) physics. There is a mystery here, so I urge anyone who can, to help. The only way to progress is with interest, and brainstorming. Those whom control this world, and governments pay people to just sit around and think, the public needs to do the same. Having hobbyists who take extra time to just , research and "think" has given us most of the technology we enjoy so much today. This is where most discoveries are made.
Aliens are literally not an explanation. There are no videos or other evidence showing or implying anything that isn't understandable by known physics and real world objects. Your organization is a joke.

It is annoying, even downright irritating, to see these so-called "reporters" giggle and joke while interviewing Chris on an important subject that potentially involve violation of our air space and a threat to our national security. So childish. It seems like the only professional news organization/reporters left are on 60 Minutes. At least, they seem to handle the subject matter like adults.

Chris Mellon is awesome. I like how prepared the female newscaster was. She's done her research. The newscaster on the top right was kind of smug. I sure hope they figure it out for themselves soon. It's the new and old paradigm.
There will always be a gap between observing new phenomena and understanding what, exactly, has been observed.
The reason there has been uptick in UAP sightings since WWII is because of our own ability to finally observe these phenomena. The phenomena themselves have been there all along, but apparent only to a fringe even further out than ufo enthusiasts—yet worked into public consciousness through fairy tales and mythologies.
One result of disclosure might be in restoring the balance between public consciousness and the truly mysterious nature of the universe, which heretofore has been “hidden” by the technicalities of science, which has advanced exponentially in the last few centuries.
When extraterrestrial life is revealed as fact, there will be a tremendous need to reevaluate what we have traditionally thought and referred to with terms such as “otherworldly” or “transcendent”, and perhaps even the miraculous and the uncanny.
