UFO – Gone In The Night

UFO – ‘Gone In The Night’ from the album “No Place To Run”

Lyrics:

Honey kick your shoes off now
And stay another night
Let’s not talk too seriously
We don’t wanna fight
Now I don’t care about your reputation
Or how you got it made

All I want is for you to stay
Don’t want a charade

*and the lights go down
Who you with tonight
It ain’t so easy holding on
Everything you seem to do babe
Just turns out so wrong

You’re gone in the night
You’re gone in the night
You’re gone in the night

People try to tell you now
About responsibilities
Those married-men do’s and don’ts
How it ought to be
But I don’t care what they say
Don’t wanna hear what’s true
As long as you want me baby
You know I need you

(repeat*)

Another great song from No Place to Run. A Way/Mogg composition. Phil Mogg at his best and Paul Chapman sketches in canvas.

no sound.

What a year 1980 was for UFO.Goodbye Michael Schenker and Producer Ron Nevison, who were in my opinion the backbone of their best years(Lights Out,Obsession and Strangers in the Night).Hello Paul Chapman who had big shoes to fill and Producer George Martin(The Beatles,Jeff Beck)who had a distaste for Hard Rock in the first place.Read an article recently with Pete Way who said George Martin wasn't a strong enough hand and that he ruined the mix of the album.

best melody

WARBORN

This album is every bit as good as what they did with Michael……brings back memories!

Beached Whales is no longer!
I dropped out together with the lead singer.
We are now playing in Too Busy Too Rock.
Beached Whales is now called License2Rockout and they paly Madonna covers! They are now a bunch of wankers!

Benoit Vanhees

Why was the Esso logo on the CD cover deleted so clumsily ? It really gave it a cheapo look, while it's probably one of the band's best records !

Benoit Vanhees

Start by renaming the band Killerwhales in that case…. 🙂

Second show I saw was UFO on No place to Run, Blackfoot on the Strikes tour. Phil was major wasted so they started playin' and faked a amp blow up to cover him they canceled. The promoter Ced Kirschener said they would reschedule and they came back with Talas like a month later and killed it. Blackfoot was fuckin' awesome BTW.

Pau Narváez Zabay

Great voice Phil Moog and Paul Rodgers
