Look to the skies, and the teles for today’s topic. The 1970 British sci-fi series titled, UFO. It was created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson, the talented husband and wife duo behind the mid-sixties series Thunderbirds, which was very popular. In 1969, the Andersons wrote the underrated scifi movie, ‘Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun’ – which had Ed Bishop in the cast, so when the Andersons were putting the pieces together for ‘UFO’, Bishop was primed to star. The show follows the exploits of the Earth Defence Directorate, a secret organization of the United Kingdom responsible for defending against alien invasion. Originally a space exploration program with an emphasis on scientific accuracy and technical detail, but the show made sure to hit light-speed into an action-adventure Sci-Fi saga. And what was created…A single series of 26 episodes, including the pilot, filmed over the course of more than a year.. UFO was wildly ambitious, darker than the Star Trek program dominating in the states, and UFO emplored all the tricks, models, hardware, and fx, to bring to life one heck of a far out series.

Thank you for the wonderful memories ❤
Dolores Mantez was beautiful!! 😍
Ayshea appeared on The Golden SHot, NOT SPot!! 😵💫
You are NOT a host. Youtube is the host you plonker
I watched the complete series recently. The first 20 episodes were brilliant. The last 6 were not, because George Sewell got replaced Colonel Lake & she was terrible
Jeremy Irons appeared in a bit part in the last episode broadcast in the UK.
Gabrielle Drake was in an episode of The Professionals as one of Bodie's girlfriends.
リメイクしてほしい!
Great show for its age way ahead of its time I fell in love with Gabriel Drake when I was ten and still feel the same at fifty eight the most annoying thing about the show is there was no such thing as traffic, they got that wrong about the future.
'Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun' was released as 'Doppelganger' in Europe. I understand that the term doppelganger was perceived to be a bit too 'intellectual' for the rest of the world by the producers !!
Very beautiful Gabrielle Drake !!
I wish it was on Netflix….. I have the complete series on DVD but don't have a player
you never meationed what happened to SID
Why does Nostolgia Nick sound like Wyatt Cox on Classic Radio Theatre?
No one could rock that purple wig better than Lt. Ellis did.
Gabrielle Drake still looks great at 77 years old.
Ed Bishop: Hey, I thought I WAS an International film star.
u is still watched in my house the wife and kids love it
Gabriell Drake WAS UFO mate.
Yes, we say zed in the uk not zee. Zed cars!!!. Good video👍🏻 …brilliant tv show, watched it on tv when i was 5 years old and now own the bluray boxset.
Golden Shot, not Golden Spot. It even says so on the screen.
Besides having the hots for Gabrielle Drake, and being a fan of George Sewell, I enjoyed every appearance of Vladek Sheybal in UFO.
He was wonderful as a character actor — usually a villain — in so many 1960s and 1970s British spy movies.
Like it so much I bought the complete series
