How can someone kill his own son?? It doesn't make any sense.

USA Roxx

4:33:20 no forensic data supports alex lie that maggie phone, and his phone and GMC data never crossed paths. In fact GMC data shows alex car did drive the area where maggies phone was found

In fact, this section of testimony proves alex lied to jury twice 1. When he claimed he asked sled about gmc data EVERY TIME. Nope. The 8.11.21 interrogation jury can replay. Alex NEVER asked about GMC data. It was SLED that asked THREE TIMES while alex and his lawyer were trying to pretend it was NOT alex who was the personal representative of maggie estate. Watch alex during this interrogation. He NEVER brought up GMC data, that was SLED and it took alex 3 times for SLED to ask about GMC data before alex finally admits he is PR of maggie estate.

Nowhere else is GMC data brought up. In fact in that interrogation alex STILL has not provided SLED with a list of missing guns from Moselle!!!

Nor has alex provided any list or print out or copy of report of THREATS made to paul.

Nor has alex produced that shirt or shoes from snapchat video

4:35:10 alex admits he knew there would be gps data on maggie phone. Is that why he took it and tossed it because gps data!

4:36:54 nobody was talking about a circle…until august 11, 2021 interrogation so if it was impotant to get GMC data why was alex pretending not to know who was in charge of maggie estate?

I believe he is trying to fool everybody. He is guilty. He does not fool me. The timeliness does not add up. !

There’s no way an avid hunter like Alex would’ve had birdshot in a shotgun to kill somebody. It was loaded with buckshot and birdshot. I think someone related to the boating accident stole the guns and decided to kill Paul and the mother saw them and got killed

mike broadwell

He’s owning everything and it’s driving the DA nuts. This is a case where telling the truth just isn’t good enough. It doesn’t make the DA look good. To remember a conversation that happened years ago when you were on drugs isn’t easy

MORTY MORTY

Alex has a poor memory for such a accomplishment Solicitor..

He shot them from the golf cart. That’s why the height is off. This man is a people pleasing manipulator. When he’s caught stealing from work, he’s sooo sorry and making things right. When he’s caught lying for a year and a half about being at the kennels, he was in drugs, and soooo sorry. He murdered his family. Why? Because he knew his life would be easier without them. He could sell property, return stolen funds to work, avoid paying the Beach family, and live with the sympathies of the entire community ad nauseam. His stealing was discovered in the end and he had to do something! So he set up his own attempted murder. He never intended to actually die though. It was another ploy to clear him as a suspect and get the attention off of his stealing. Why is this so hard to believe? Because this isn’t what NORMAL people do! This is what people who are sociopaths AND using drugs do. It makes perfect sense to them.

Ji Kook

Alex said Maggie asked him to leave then quickly changed it. A motive? Alex said he lied about being at the kennels. Why didn't the prosecutor ask him WHY he lied about it? Alex said there was no one around for the dogs to sense. Exactly

What time does court resume today?

It's a cruel, cruel world out there. The more vulnerable you are, the more the vultures come for you.

Bruh… come on… at least shake your head NO when saying you didn’t kill your wife and son… 😑😑

As an assistant prosecuting attorney, I'm talking back at the screen at the prosecutor and the defendant. To the prosecutor, the stealing from clients while looking them in the face could have been streamlined significantly. You wanted to show the jury two things: (1) They should not believe AM's testimony because he is a convincing liar, who easily lied to his clients, family members, and law partners, and would have no problem lying to the jurors and (2) Many years of lying and embezzling were about to be revealed and added to the tremendous pressure that he was under at the time that Maggie and Paul were killed. Don't argue with AM and move to strike his narrative, non-responsive answers. This could have been accomplished in 20 minutes. AM–Isn''t it true that you embezzled money from your clients for several years–yes or no? Isn't it true that you embezzled money from your law partners including your brother–yes or no? Isn't it true that you often sat down with your clients, looked them in the eye, and lied to them about their money? Isn't it true that this was about to be discovered by your firm and as part of discovery in the civil boat case lawsuit–yes or no? Then, you argue to the jury in your closing argument that this evidence establishes that they should not believe AM's testimony because he is a practiced liar.

Dude stole money from teenagers, orphans and quadriplegics. What an ambulance chasing, blood-sucking parasite. He deserves all of this!

His rocking back and forth is like the rocking that one of Jeffery dahmer’s victims described Dahmer would do.

Why is the back of this house significant?

He's very proud of being drug free for 535 days. Lol congratulations, scum bag, most adults, let alone attorneys, are responsible enough to never get hooked on drugs to begin with! He would still be using drugs if he hadn't been gone to jail.

I hope this guy never decides to care about me and decide I'm a wonderful, honest person (because look how he treats all these close friends and clients, and how he lied to his wonderful family whom he claimed to love).
He killed his wife in part because he didn't want to face her when she found out he was a major thief, and because she was getting on him for his opiate consumption. He killed his son so he wouldn't have to pay a huge settlement from the boat wreck, and because he didn't want a criminal conviction of his son to stain his name. The guy is a train wreck and doesn't even see a problem with his choices. He thought he could bamboozle anyone, since he did for decades. He knew full well and was banking on the fact that his reputation would convince a jury he's not family anihilator. He knows status goes a long way in the story-telling production that are juried criminal cases.
His repetition of his "I stole" phrase is a gaslighting techinque to make people think he is a changed man since he admits wrongdoing.

And I do not believe they will find this man guilty of murder. He's looking at serious time on these financial charges, and I think that's going to be the end of it. Whether it's a hung jury or a not-guilty straight across the board, I don't know, but I don't believe the prosecution has proved jack squat about the murders! Creighton Waters wasted SO MUCH TIME wanting answers he was told point-blank from the very first question he was not going to get but he would not let it go and the judge wouldn't let it go either as the defense continued to object. I don't know what they thought they would achieve, but he was not going to give them what they were after. I'm not convinced he knows the answers to what they were after. Having been strung out on pain pills for 20 years, he may not remember just like he's saying. But if this is what Creighton Waters laid in bed about and dreamed of questioning today, he wasted his time! And I think that was the point Alec was getting to when he was saying "I've listened to all this stuff about these financial crimes but I'm charged with murder!!" So, in other words, why are you not asking me s*** about the murders?

richard lawless

What an irritating sociopath, probably could have paid for everyones Oxy habit in Carolina . –

C Rose

The prosecution is hammering away at the financials because they have no physical evidence linking Alex to the murders. The judge himself has stated twice now that this is all circumstantial. How it was allowed in court when this man hasn't gone to trial and been convicted of this is beyond me and will allow the defense to have a strong case come appeal time. For those saying if he can lie and steal, he can murder, stay away from a jury box. You are exactly why innocent people are jailed. I'm not saying this man is innocent but there is no physical evidence which is very important.

Lacey Fox

I'm sure his attorney had nothing to do with this trial. I'm sure he ran the whole show

PurchasesMadeSimple

I've said multiple times and I'm going to reiterate it yet again this town evidently was so far in over their heads & ill prepared, they did not have a clue! One would think sled would know better but it doesn't appear anyone did! It will become obvious by the end of murder is testimony that the prosecution doesn't have a clue what he's doing either. This should have been passed on to a larger agency, or I don't know who because obviously the FBI is not where it could have gone, but it seems SLED doesn't know much about crime scenes either. The tiny town in Idaho, where the four kids were murdered have done a better job thus far. Even the reporter? What kind of question did he ask that he honestly expected a response for? Hey Alec what are you going to say on the stand today? As if there's a simplified answer to that. I'm just blown away at how poorly this trial has been put together and how the crime has even been investigated!!

Matteo Edwardes

Judge Pirro thinks innocent or hung?? What in the world?? Is it a jury friendly to him? A groupie type? Remember Bundy, Menendez boys, OJ, and even Manson had women fawning all over them convinced they weren’t guilty even if the guilt is glaringly obvious. Sickening.

Susan Shelton

Why haven’t they asked him to produce the shirt and pants he was wearing at the time? His attorney is a big joke. I believe that he should be hammered as to where the clothes are,Where the two rifles are. You cant tell me he lost both of them just like that. I don’t believe one word he says at all. He should date Amber Hurd she knows how to put on a show for the jury too. Boo Hooo!!!!. Stealing the money from all those clients is despicable. Prosecutors should be doing a better job at drilling him and tear holes in his testimony. I thought they would be much more aggressive with him.

Nykkolette

Why is he wiping his nose like that?

openyoureyez9

Exactly what I expected from the state on cross. They just want to talk about money.

R

Maggie and Paul called Alex to talk about the pills Maggie found. Alex wanted to meet at the farm, which Maggie hated. Paul and Maggie ended up deed, and later Alex is sitting in the police car with a pocket full of pills, or so he says. Alex stated that's the only time he got paranoid, sweating shaking, he takes he took deep breath and talked his way out of the situation by choosing to lie .

Monica THomas

Some people are trying to put this man prison for the rest of his life. Not everyone that's a thief is I murderer. He loved his as much as she loved him. Overall he loved his family. He had no life insurance on her or his son. Yet he had a huge insurance on his life just in case he died his wife would be well taken care of. Most thieves are not killer. The prosecutor is trying to trip him up by trying to to theft instead of murder " word salad " This man didn't kill his family. Ofcourse his head is messed up on some of the most potent drugs, I have worked in that population. He's terrible for all the money he stole from this clients and business partners. This man is not guilty killing his family. Prosecutor is trying to give himself a big name. These are two different cases.

Licia Karp

Surely in the absence of any evidence of ANY other person on the property ANYWHERE, it automatically reverts to (or at least creates the most logical conclusion) the guilt of AM being the ONLY other person around that time who was there? 'Poor me, the pills made me do/not do maybe, perhaps do it" seems to be the main theme. Is he representing the sweet innocent charm of the vulnerable narcissist? 'I did not mean any of it. I was struggling and I am admitting it so you should feel thrilled at my honesty and feel so sorry for me that you will let me go". The lack of concern/remorse at taking money from severely injured and underaged clients is quite horrifying. This is demonstrated majorly in the fact that the people meant so little to him that his recall is poor. Just saying "Yes, I did the wrong thing" does not demonstrate remorse. Another huge indicator of the narcissism is the euphemizing and minimizing of his behaviour. He says 'inappropriate' for stealing. He uses the word 'misleading' for deliberately conning his clients. This is why the prosecutor was determined to try to get some real response from AM. 'One case where you looked her in her eyes and deliberately lied". He repeatedly says 'lied, misled,'. The Prosecutor is aiming at "I deliberately conned them. I knew what I was doing and felt nothing for their plight" But of course AM would never admit that. But his responses are admitting that.

I have to admit, I don't see any benefit to asking the same question over and over again. To ask about specific conversations he had years ago with clients that he stole from, and expect an answer is disingenuous. I'm certainly not defending Murdaugh, but it's simply a waste of time and has nothing to do with the murder charges. If they don't have anymore evidence, then get it over with, make your closing statement, let the jury deliberate and bring back a verdict, so they can all get back to their lives. No matter how the jury may feel about what Murdaugh did to his clients and his colleagues, a pit bull prosecutor who continuously attacks a cooperative defendant could create sympathy in the eyes of the jury, or just plain tic them off.

VERY TELLING when Alex says-(about stealing money) "one of the saddest parts of this whole thing is they are people I still care about, and I did them this way"… Just like you cared for your wife and son but you also 'did them so bad'…
