Today we are doing some drift fishing out of Hillsboro Inlet, Fl. Our goal was to drift with live goggle eye as bait, do some jigging and bottom fishing while on the drift. I decided to harvest a barracuda for dinner to show people these fish are in fact delicious and safe to eat. Barracuda often get a bad wrap as being sickly fish that can spread disease, but this is simply not true!

is the small pompano I've seen you and Brook catch a different species than the big african pompanos I see in some you tube videos?
Only Americans classify certain fish as trash in Bermuda barracuda is served at restaurants like wahoo, tuna & other fish
This dude and his girl knows his / their stuff. People like these will suffer less if the food supply collapses.
Love how your drinking Landshark when that is your YouTube name. Maybe they can be a sponsor lol. Plus absolutely love LandShark
OH THEY ARE DELICIOUS!! But here in the bahamas we have to be careful, the ciguatera bacteria contaminates alot of them here. The Cleanest ones live in the Mangrove for us. ANy off the Main Land, and your at risk of going into the hospital. Its Brutal man!!
Some people dont care and eat it any way with is Reckless. But the only time i'll try it is when ive seen someone else test it out a day before with no incident. Its eat at your own risk here😂😂🤣
Exactly Viktor: this fish that have become toxic by feeding on toxic dinoflagellates, as an example he cited microscopic marine planktonic algae, whose main source is benthic dinoflagellate (gambierdiscus toxicus), which lives in the vicinity of coral reefs strongly attached to microalgae. Florida in not the case.
A bad day of fishing is a better day than the best days at work.
There are tissue samples of tuna that are over a 100 years old in the Smithsonian that contain more Mercury than modern tuna does. RIDDLE ME THAT! Barracuda some of the best eating fish no one's ever tried…. We need to keep that a secret or the next thing you know there'll be a slot size and a one per day limit. That way they can save the resources to be sold to another country.
Little schlomitails cute 😍
Ciguatera has more to do with the temperature of the water year round the snails that produce die at around 60 degrees
Awesome video
👍
1:50 crazy 👍 10 dollars
Fantastic footage 😀
heeeeyyyy. Mustad. Thats where I'm from.
Great video, I haven't commented in a while, but I watch all you do. The Barracuda is a delicious fish with a wide range of habitat. Glad to see it given it's due in the kitchen. Keep up the good work.
Never had barracuda. I was surprised at how the meat looked. We do black sea bass, grouper and some others on the regular at my house. That barracuda could go on the menu if I could find me some.
Yeah, but cudas done stank
We used to fried the lure fish. Nice tasty fried fish. Now I know why. Its expensive….
I've been poisoned twice from barracuda in the Bahamas! I still eat them!
Great Video. I'm going to try that recipe!
Venting tool is old school. Use a descender.
Now I know where the name Landshark Outdoors came from. Great beer.

How much did the cuda pay you for the sponsorship
Try brain spiking and bleeding straight away and won't have all the blood in the meat.
How often do you sharpen your Dexter?
Always bleed out a barracuda right away on the boat.
Thanks for teaching us about Florida’s ecosystem!

I thought they changed the rules on ventilators. To rod and that releaser thing just wondering?
What kind of rod was on Brookes spinning rig
29:35 In some cultures, the bloodline is actually valued and seen as the best tasting part of the fish!

JUST BE SAFE WITHIN THE CORAL REEF AND CATCH/COOK LIONFISH
Brevard barrier reef; murky water, has Ciguatera, because I ate Nurse shark meat; very fresh, and got diarrhea and mild paralasyse. I heard they used to dynamite Barracuda holes in the past.
