Where are the simple, barebones EVs? I know we can't fully go back to 1985, but we can sure as shit make cars with wind up windows, manual locks, and HVAC controls that aren't on a damn touch screen. I might be interested in one if it didn't cost more than my yearly salary. Everything being made in the EV sphere these days is luxurious and complex. The market needs simple and robust.

i honestly cannot stand EVs as a concept. for me it takes away the individuality of the car enthusiast. instead of building up a car in a way that is your is removed as automakers will lock down just about every aspect of the car. if ICE is banned then the enthusiasts that like to tinker and tune their cars wont be able to do much if anything at all with EVs. sure you can do tires, aero and suspension but power adders? nope, not unless the automaker says you can, and if Mercedes is anything to learn from they are gonna paywall it monthly. also EVs are just replacing one problem for another environmentally.

"who would ever really need a hook to hang a bag"
well, who would ever thought of putting the key down by the handbrake to avoid your knees crashing into it? SAAB
this is the design philosophy that got me into saab and stay with my 900S since
now I really wanna have a polestar, they are volvo people who admires SAABs, what's not to love?

Mr. Regular, no need to be so conservative with the Raycon segments, Internet Historian is proof they let you get away with saying damn near anything.

Veritas Valebit

I’d gladly volunteer to be the last person in the US to finally cave and buy a EV.

Dude i wanted to watch all the quirks about this car, but got a lecture on my life! I loved it beautiful video. Life is expiriences good & bad we choose if we move forward or not. ❤

Manufacturers forcing subscription transactions on equipment I own is a disgraceful trend.

Remember it all started with software developers maximising profits.

We'll know EVs are mainstream when there is no more novelty to them being EVs and just another car.

In a world where Texas is free to neglect their power grid to own the libs, EVs are a death sentence for this car-dependent nation.

I mean, don't get me wrong, ICEs are too at some point in time but for now I gotta drive 20 miles back and forth to work every day to earn maybe $350 after taxes and give most of it to my landlord(s), so, don't look at me.

I think the main issues isn't EVs I think the main issue is lost time. Alot of the things we were promised in the 80s and 90s in movies or in Popular machanis are here and that scares some people. So instead of saying "I'm not ready." They say "We aren't ready."

The electric motor as a primary mover is a great idea. The problem is still supplying it with power since batteries are still a joke. Trains figured this out decades ago.

Tell politicians to quit banning shit and this entire "argument" for or against EV goes away. Let the technology stand on its own merit and let it do what it is good at but do not try to force square pegs into round anuses. EV trucks suck dick and always will. This entire sector isn't even about combating climate change anymore because Lithium ain't it baby. The same people are too scared to build nuclear power plants though. Fuck it all just stop banning things that don't fit your personal lifestyle tastes. You're not individually saving the planet and I'm not individually destroying it.

Jesus, dude, a minute in and I was starting to think you were serious. Whoooo got me in the first half, not gonna lie

“You cannot control other people but you can control yourself” man I wish someone had hammered this into me in my 20s

I love this car and I have no idea why

I've been a gearhead since that fateful day decades ago when I figured out lego had wheels, and I'd love to have an EV because of what you said – it's the next version. If I went back 20 years ago and I was told that one day you'd be able to buy a truck with a 2.7 liter engine that will out pull a 302? I'd say there's no way. But now there's two trucks on the market with a similar size engine that are at least that capable. And now I can buy one that's electric. It would be perfect for me because I spend most of my time within 50 or so miles of my house.

For me it’s two things – One, Lithium mining isn’t as green as most people wish it was with the bonus of horrible working conditions. Plus, once the battery dies, I don’t think we really have a great way of recycling these things. – Two, this is giving car manufacturers an in, on micropayments and threatening our right to repair these vehicles. Just look at how aggressive Tesla is on resell – you paid for heated seats? Ok but you can’t resell your car with heated seats – over the air kill switch. I’d like to think as a society we do right… I hope this is a step into a true, sustainable and green future, but as history loves to repeat itself, I don’t see a great future for average consumers.

I will never get an electric vehicle. I’m buying cool manual ice cars up when I can to have plenty of them to last my lifetime.
My decision has zero to do with anyone else. My decision is based solely on the fact that manual analog driving experiences are my favorite thing on this planet. My therapy is taking my STI or Cobra out for an amazing sounding and feeling analog driving experience. I don’t care about chopping somebody at a red light or having my car drive for me and take my favorite thinf

I don't mind EVs. I'd get one, but I have no way to really charge it

Aaron German

no way to supplement all current cars with EV's. not enough raw materials. SO. What are we doing here? oh..govt was fewer cars on the road. that's what is going to happen y'all. The poors get F'd

Roman, how I've missed you.

I personally will never own an EV, at least as my car, the wife can have what she wants. But I have nothing against them or those who want them. Just not my thing.
