48 hours alone – the most scared I’ve ever been while camping.

CAN’T BELIEVE I ACCIDENTALLY CAMPED HERE! Most scared I’ve ever been in a record breaking woodland.

After the mammoth social event that is Christmas I headed into a local woodland for some much needed solitude. Normally I don’t mind camping alone, even as a solo female wild camper not much scares me, but this woodland was different.
I didn’t know it when I first arrived, but this screaming wood, part of Derring wood near Pluckley in Kent, holds the world record for being the most haunted place in the UK.
It wasn’t long before I started to find out why this place has a reputation!
Still, I do my best to spend 48 hours solo camping there, have a look around and even cook steak and chips round the fire, find out if after my dinner I had the courage to stay….

If you enjoy wild camping, stealth camping and travel, whether in a tent or campervan then stick around for regular van life and wild camping travel content!

Isn't the woods known as screaming woods

Ermintrude and friends

More Uke or anything else you can play, really personalises the mood. X ❤

UK MAN

You got bigger meatballs than me!! Really enjoyed this, more so your camping skills. I'm with you with steak, medium to well done and no juice. Looked very tasty and shows you can eat well camping. Can we have more "The lone camper" stuff. Great editing and filmmaking . Thanks x

Sara Booth-Kilby

This was like watching the Blair Witch! My husband's on nights tonight and it's creeped me out before I try and go to sleep🤣🤣. I don't know how you managed to stay another night!

sharina kent

Literally crappibg myself watching this!
I'm a kent lady and these woods scare me!!

Mark McCann

This is my first time seeing one of your videos. Very well done. The good camera work and editing gave it just the right amount of timing and a bit of humor to help make your commentary so down to earth and fun to hear. I love the blend of confidence and humility, information and color commentary, as you take us on a journey with you. Many of us have been there, spooked by sounds, wondering what's out there, but then, bravely admitting our fears and toughing it out.

I love videos that combine food with camping (dinner and a show) and it was like being out there with a friend. I felt your fear but I also learned about your character as you had your adventure. That is what backpacking is all about, making a journey not only of distance but of inner growth as well.

Thank you for sharing this. Very good work putting it together with the different types of shots, the subtitles, etc. I loved the "head torch" shots with the circular look, the commentary completely in the dark, the joyful moments around the fire, and your grateful attitude in bringing it all to us. I look forward to your next video. I'm getting excited for my first hike of the season in the spring. Peace!

Trucker

Probably a poacher

Dark Of Light

Great stuff! Brave of you to head out like this. Be safe, stay frosty.

Douglas Freeman

Bit puzzled here: if you think someone is prowling around surely whispering into the camera isn't very wise? It was probably the tree monsters. Luckily they are deaf, so they can't hear whispering. Axes make them very angry though. Maybe the footsteps belonged to someone who was gullible enough to believe in ghosts and came out looking for them. A ghost hunter! More likely than a "ghost" who is able to make corporeal sounds with non-corporeal feet. The world is also full of wierdos who don't like wild campers. Boring buggers!

Kiz Brewster

Your brave. I defiantly heard those foot steps and they seemed very close, there are a couple of things that come to mind, how the hell did the foot steps just stop and how the hell did they negotiate their way around without a light in the pitch black, all the time you were recording the trees I was looking to see was there anyone peeking around. Stay safe and happy camping.

C Mullin

Just watched the video enjoyed it very much certainly a camp sight you will not forget cannot wait for next video thanks.

karl mcgowan

Who writes these haunted guide books, an unseen hand. If the hand is unseen, then how do you know it's a hand

Dorothy Suenkel

I've never heard crows like that in the middle of the night and I've lived in the country most of my life. You are a lot braver than I am. Stay safe.

Andrew Harris

Keep the axe in the tent girl!

Zubey Stinzen

Wow Louise,I spotted the face on the tree @8-29 & it friggin spooked me a bloody grown man 😂😂😂
Great video you don't half make me laugh lady ❤️😂

Blair Witch Project. UK Edition

Helen Finlay

Louise you have balls of steel! I was scared watching this, can’t believe you stayed a 2nd night.

Steve

Only numptys believe in ghosts

Hendrikus de Tuinman

If you scared, put on headphones with nice music. It is the sound that makes your scared just like with a horror movie. That movie ainst scaring if the sound is off. Also it makes your thoughts clear and focus on eyesight in the dark.

Deirdre Clark

really enjoyed the video, thanks.

Di Allinson

Oh gosh you are so brave, think I'd have had a heart attack at those footsteps, definitely sounded human. I wished you'd had a wildlife camera out there so you could have seen the next day. Thankfully if it was a human, they didn't touch any of your stuff, especially that axe

Tenbury Wells Martin

Compulsive viewing..The worrying thing is,is that those clear sounding footsteps, were steady, confident ones, not tentative. There were no lights,so how can anyone wander around like that in the pitch dark, amongst trees and branches, without a torch of some kind….its bewildering..!!

Curlewpiper 3

Proper dodgy that like , you got bigger balls than me to kip twice there

BIZARRE WORLD 13 (Whoops)

i have just stumbled on your channel you got a new sub here. looking forward on catching up on all your videos 🙂

Alcoholiday69

I'll tell you what Lou, if you had cajolies I'm damn sure they would be made of steel, I know I wouldn't have stayed a second night after hearing those noises and reading the stories. Now it's Ems turn to camp there for the night, that would be a funny video lol.

Peter Chelmsford

Another great vlog Lou. Have ever heard foxes at night, it sounds like someone screaming as they are being murdered. 😁

Donnan Huggler

That was definitely scary.

I’m from Boston Mass.

We have lots of ghosts.

Those screams weren’t healthy lol.

People shooting at dusk?

That’s a strange time to be shooting.

You play a lovely Ukulele!

Sue Price

Might be the Wildman (aka British Bigfoot)

Marshlander du Marais

This showed up on my feed and I watched it. Excellent video and I’ve had to subscribe. Thanks and congratulations!

Stephanni Richards

I would never have stayed that second night! You’re hilarious, brave, mental?! 🤣

Life with Nick and Hayley

14 "known" ghosts. Yep. A newspaper article is DEFINITELY evidence of ghosts.

Albin Lindberg

Very brave

Richard Uk

LeakyCup

Niki J.

Oh my god! The fact you left the axe out…made me laugh SO hard.!😂

N N

I am camping out alone, but in my van. It is night and Now I am keying in on every sound. I would not have stayed for breakfast. My gut was saying GO, RUN. What was that……

Jill Langman

What do i reckon? You forgot the onion! It still looked good though. You are a brave woman. I’ll subscribe. 🌈🐨

Mariann Fehily

Come camp in outback Australia, the "minn minn lights" will get ya mind racing. It's an eerie light, without sound or definition, floating towards you but never arrives. I've also seen it the rainforest on the east coast.

Wendy Maddock

Louise I enjoyed every minute of your campaign sorry you were so scared Just found your Chanel like what I see xx 😊xx

L Alexander

Omg. I love her van.

Also, that was terrifying. Stuff exists. When I was a kid I went camping with family at Point Lookout MD. It's a well known historic location for an old Civil War fort. One night while settling in to sleep inside the tent, a truck-light passing through the camp sites cast a light across our tent, and we saw an unmistakable shadow of a Civil War soldier running in front of our tent. I'm 42 now and I cannot forget what I saw.

As woman i always have a dog. If it sounds like screams it’s a female fox!
As for footsteps you heard shooting so probably poachers!!
